The author explains, in detail, what abstract art is, gives detailed information on materials and supplies needed (including her personal favorites), and she goes through the process of creating beautiful abstract watercolor paintings. The book explains techniques, how to create various abstract shapes, abstract botanicals, landscapes and much more. The book has 117 pages of gorgeous paintings and designs and is chock full of inspiration and ideas. I would give this book six stars if I could. Review: Beginners fear not - This book is exactly what I need. It is clear, details all the things to know and have on hand to start, for example, doesn’t just give recommendations but SHOWS a recommended item and shows an example of what it does. So when I shop for a Filbert brush, I know what it is supposed to look like and what I will use it for and most importantly how it is supposed to look when I use it. Beautiful layout, colors and designs. I love it. My only suggestion is to coil bind it at the top and use heavy cardboard for cover so I can stand it up and flip pages. This book will be in front of me when I paint for a long time. Thank you to the author for thinking of everything and for sharing your beautiful artwork. If you want to know what supplies you need for watercolor and how to use them, this book is for you. The abstract part is so cool because anything you paint is art.

My all time favorite watercolor book
i am a beginner at watercolor painting and I bought this book on a whim. And I am glad I did! I have bought several watercolor books but this is by far my favorite. The author explains, in detail, what abstract art is, gives detailed information on materials and supplies needed (including her personal favorites), and she goes through the process of creating beautiful abstract watercolor paintings. The book explains techniques, how to create various abstract shapes, abstract botanicals, landscapes and much more. Beginners fear not
This book is exactly what I need. Fabulous! Like Having a Class on Your Desk
This is an excellent book for someone who wants to take their watercolor painting to a more abstract creative level. Soft cover, 120 beautifully illustrated pages. As you can see from the photos below, the instructional quality is thorough and easy to understand. Each of the big projects take up 6 full pages of inspiring illustrations and step by step instructions. This is like taking a class in your own home; proceed step by step at your own pace. A wealth of knowledge and inspiration. I love this book and highly recommend.

I'm going to have fun with this instructional book!
Love this book and the techniques used. I bought this book for a watercolor class I will be taking in a couple of months. The author is such a good teacher I may start trying some samples even before the class. I like the freeform use of the watercolors, and the pen just adds to the look by accenting the abstract shapes. All of the supplies are clearly stated using her experience and preferences. That experience will save me money in the long run by using quality products right from the start.

Awesome watercolor book!
This is the most awesome book for abstract watercolors! The ideas are fresh, the colors are gorgeous, and what’s really nice is Kate lists the supplies for each project. This book gets your creative juices flowing!

Great book
I love this book and the process of this style. I find it meditative and relaxing. This is one of my favorite watercolor books —- I even enjoy looking at the pictures— every time Isee something new.

Very inspiring!
I found this book to be very inspiring for a beginner like me. I loved the projects and can't wait to pull out my paints and try them. There are great illustrations and clear directions.

Le contenu est super, et un plus pour moi j'apprend l'anglais.
Il est très bien expliquer, il y a plussieurs projet à faire soi même et il donnes pas mal d'idée. Il y a aussi les marques du materiël utilisée. Afin de pas toujours besoin de rester des heures sur les écrans (qui donnent mal de tête) c'est bien le support papier. Merci pour ce belle ouvrage.
