Good straight talk
Makes the practice of pranayama accessible and manageable for anyone without all the overblown breath control requirements, or “heroics” as the author calls them while advising us away from such attempts. Just regular short sessions 2x days breathing up and down the spine, from base to brow, with a few more options available is enough. The book ends with a discussion of the higher level principles, kundalini and so forth, but this is not the crux of the writer’s message. Has a very non-pretentious quality to it that I like (where the the opposite, a typically pompous air of “spirituality” distracts me.). This author is not at all like that. No stories of implausible events and so forth....almost a Spartan feel to the writing, which I found very easy to read and put to use immediately

A powerful breathing technique
This is a very well written book into a form of pranayama (spinal breathing). The instructions are very clear, concise and it appears easy to develop a practice. However, according to some internet sources, Yogani shuns guru status, will not verify his identity as an author nor can he verify his version of what is stated in his books. One possible concern is the danger of these techniques. The literature is full of examples of people who have done irrepararable harm to themselves; however, according to Yogani, if one practices in a very measured and sober manner, there is little chance of harm. Yogan's techniques very closely mirror a well known yoga home study course whose author is a recognized guru; however, Yogani cuts to the specific practice and is an excellent alternative. It probably is best to have a teacher the further one progresses in these practices.

Easy to follow
The whole series of books by Yogani are well thought out, really well written, and simple to follow. I found this book on a specific breathing technique quite helpful. The technique is simple, which I like. All details of practice and any ways to handle odd and/or beneficial effects experienced along the way, are explained very well. There is some repetition in the series regarding the process of nervous system purification and some possibly distracting effects and how to handle them, but after reading most of these books, I simply skimmed over those sections. The books are quick to read, and approximately 100 pages each, so I could get through them in one sitting or two and then, of course, went back to check some details as necessary. The breathing technique is the key to starting this spiritual practice program. It is the basic foundational process upon which all else builds. One must learn this prior to meditating, as it assists to quiet the mind enough to start meditation. I immediately purchased these books as a gift because I liked them so much.

Nice simple presentation, but inaccurate information
While this book promotes a clear and simple cleansing of the spine, it is also loaded with misinformation and downright incorrect information. The technique that is presented here, is simply a clearing of the Kundalini channel. It in fact gets the Kundalini moving, yet nowhere does it really allude to that. It also incorrectly states that Kundalini energy is sexual energy, and that is not true. It is easy to confuse the two energies, but they are completely different and have very different uses. The author also has you run the Kundalini energy from the root chakra to the brow, and eventually he has it running forward through and out the front of the brow chakra, instead of up and out the crown chakra. Why? Because he doesn't want you to have a "premature" enlightenment. Why is it that so many Eastern teachers want you to avoid enlightenment? Is it because they are falsely teaching that you need a guru (them) in order to experience it? I really don't know why they do it, but clearing the crown chakra is just as important as clearing all the other chakras. The author presents possible negative effects of this technique (jerking, twitching) and tells one to stop if it happens, instead of presenting information on how to gently control it.There is a great deal of misinformation regarding Kundalini and how to run it already being taught, and this book adds to it.I have been clearing my spine and my entire reality with Kundalini energy for more than 25 years and I would have given this book only one star, but the author does present pranayma in clear and simple terms, yet with the misinformation mentioned above.

Central Nervous System Healing and much more
It always depnds on what you want out of a book. This book gives you the basics of what will get you there. It then adds layers you can chose to add but the author is sure to tell you that the first baseline Yogani set is plenty. This is a form of spinal breathing that will heal your central nervous system and prepare your body for a deeper transformation. This breathing would provide deep healing on it's own. This is a wonderful book and I do recommend it highly.

Come, enjoy spinal breathing with me
I was suspicious of the 5-star reviews by people who apparently read only this author, but I bought the book anyway because I enjoy breathing. This book teaches a simple method of breathing that nearly anyone can practice nearly anywhere. The author recommends doing the practice for five minutes, twice daily, but as you grow more attuned to your breathing, you will probably start breathing more deeply and efficiently even when not doing full-on spinal breathing. You do not need to know how to meditate or do yoga to enjoy spinal breathing. I found the book well written and edited, with sufficient detail but no longer than it needs to be.

A spiritual jewel
Yogani has a wonderful gift to be able to convey advanced yoga practices in simple, elegant, and illuminating prose. This book is 2nd in the AYP Enlightenment series, after "Deep Meditation". Yogani has deciphered and decoded some of the most powerful yoga practices down to a science. Whereas many famous mystics in the past have found enlightenment and shared their truth with the world, for the first time someone does so with a scientific understanding and mastery. For me this has added a much clearer and holistic picture to an otherwise inexplicable experience.

Great book on spinal breathing!
This book is written in a simple language that everyone can understand and spinal breathing has been explained so clearly. I have enjoyed reading this book for the second time and I recommend it to everyone who wants to improve or add this practice to their meditation. I have used spinal breathing for 3 weeks now every day before my 20 minutes transcendental meditation and I have to say that I have noticed more energy during the day and clearer thinking. My creativity has also improved. I am still getting used to spinal breathing but it is enjoyable and I will persist with it. Thank you Yogani so much for your efforts to write this book for the benefit of humanity and spiritual growth.

Excellent
For someone like myself who has never heard of spinal breathing, this is an excellent read and a great introduction to it. I have started doing it twice daily and already feel uplifted and less anxious.
