I was absolutely up to my neck in half working 4 gang electrical sockets with doubles stuck in for good measure. I bought this one to tidy up the place a little bit and provide that extra protection from power surges, having regular brown outs for a few seconds here and there quite frequently nowadays. It was actually a pleasure to rip out the old ones and replace them with this tidy little number. Each socket has it's own independant rocker switch and the 5 meters of cable allowed me to hide it out of the way on top of a cupboard so I don't even know it exists any more. I have loads of spare plugs now too without having to worry about using one of those dreaded cubes that make you fear for your electrical safely. This is cheap at twice the price, all of the sockets work perfectly unlike those generic white 4 gangs you get where inevitably one of the sockets fails or is a bit temperamental when it feels left out. the sockets are suitably spaced and most adapters will fit in, however I find it frustrating that all of the sockets have the single pin facing inwards, so those adapters that have the bulk towards that pin won't fit in unless you decide to block the power socket it covers. Having all of the sockets the same way around would have been much better - so the single pin was facing north and not always into the socket. That way you would have 4 sockets for those adapters that our innies and 4 sockets for adapters that are outies. Hey, this is a minor grumble for something that has made my cable clutter problem vanish in 30 minutes so I am very pleased. Overall, the long cable, the not in your face colour scheme, the handy power switches and the surge protection all make this a great little replacement for your horrible white 4 gang nightmares. The only downside is the orientation of some of the sockets but that is a minor issue when you realise you are getting all of this for a real bargain price.

Good piece of kit and at a reasonable price. Really useful to have each socket with an illuminated individual switch although the light isn't that bright in the switches. It would show up in a dimly lit room but not in daylight. But having said that, I'd buy again.

A very good extension lead with a 5metre cable and switches for every socket.

It's got a good length of cable allowing this to be placed across a typical British house room. Individual switches for each socket. I can leave 8 items neatly plugged into this one adaptor block, the individual switches mean that I can isolate each of those 8 items and prevent them from drawing "phantom power" when not in use. However, it is important to understand, this item works best with low power devices. Lamps, USB chargers etc. It will NOT support 8 heavy power devices such as kitchen appliances, fires, heaters, tumble dryers, cookers, microwaves. These will ALL risk overloading this item.

I can't fault it, it serves its purpose very well. With the ever increasing number of electrical items we use today, and wondering where to insert each plug into an electrical socket , has become a headache. Rather than unplugging a plug from the main fitted socket in a room in order to plug into the mains wall socket a different electrical appliance, it is easier and far more convenient to install this 8 way SURGE protected extension with desired sufficient length of cable. I purchased this surge protected extension with a 5 metre cable to suit my needs. However they are available to buy in shorter length cables fitted, as short as 2 metres (maybe even shorter cables are available ). The result being that I can now plug in as many as 8 (eight ) plugs for various different electrical appliances into this one extension. Furthermore, the good thing is, that I can switch 'ON' or switch ' OFF ' any one or more of the appliances, as and when I need to. There are 'NO COMPLICATIONS' in fitting this 8 way surge protected extension. It has two holes at the rear of the extension. I have fitted my extension on a wall at a suitable height for my reach using two screws and wall plugs. I used a template to mark on the wall where exactly the two holes had to be drilled. I inserted the wall plugs into the holes, followed by a screw in each slightly projected from the wall. It was then just a matter of placing the holes in the back of the extension onto the slightly projecting screws. It was then just a matter of plugging the extension lead plug into the mains socket and switch to 'ON'. Since buying the extension, there has been 'no more' bending to pull out a plug and insert another plug for the appliance I wish to use. In fact, now that I have eight appliances all plugged in, it is so easy to switch 'ON' or switch 'OFF' as and when I wish. These extensions can also be left placed on the floor, but are better fitted at a suitable and reachable height.

I needed a quality surge protection extension lead for my pc, monitor, usb hub, lamp and two routers that was at least 3 metres long. Here is the solution.
