Another stellar moondrop entry, the cable exceeds expectations
I'm not usually someone who EQ's headphones - I like them to sound the way the designer tuned them. But with the moondrop app (have to download the APK for android on their site) the degree and precision of the EQ tuning is HUGE. And the side perk is they're a standard 2 pin 0.78mm design on the cable with a slight recess, so anything you want with a 2 pin design can just plug right in. The cable also actually plays nice with dolby atmos on my phone - a rarity. It sounds fun and lively, instead of weird and unnatural. The biggest boon to the cable that had me leery is that I'm super, SUPER sensitive to "amp click" and low level hiss. the quark DSP was unusable because of that. But I'm happy to report this cable is silent on both sides. No hiss, no click when you're not playing anything and scrolling through youtube. The IEM's work just fine with a regular 2 pin too. Sound is great. These really do sound like a solid $100-150 IEM. I definitely prefer the simgot EM6L to these, but these are a little smoother, trading a little detail and soundstage for cohesiveness. They're gorgeous looking too. And the semi-custom fit is just right for me with some shallower tips. They're a fun tuning at baseline, a little warm-neutral V shaped. The micro planar really is nice and textured - something I like when companies leave in. I think I like them a little more than the aria 2, but they're just a bit more grown up and the aria goes for pure fun. But I'm sure you could tune these to get there as well. It would have been nice if the cable came with a reverse type C to 3.5mm adapter but that's asking a lot, this thing already delivers a ton for the money. The only thing I think is a little odd is the diameter of the nozzle. It's REALLY wide. It's not a super deep/wide design like the truthear zero, which was like trying to fit a cannon down your ear canal (and thus was super uncomfortable for me) but since the tip does the fitting, it's comfortable. It just is WIDE, so fitting tips on it can be annoying. The stock tips were actually a real pain to fit on them. But they'll accept most tips - dunu SS, TRN T tips, coreir brass, everything normal fits, it's just a challenge to put them on for some. And I do wish it had the brass detachable nozzle and replaceable filters of the chu II and Aria II. That really is a superb design choice that the may lacks. Truthfully, there are no deal breakers here. The price they're asking would be almost fair for the cable alone - a really nice DSP and EQ tunable cable is impressive with no click or hiss. And then throw some $100-150 sounding IEM's in as well? Nobody tell moondrop, they forgot to put a 1 in front of their price.

Nice!!!
I just received these and I like them a lot. I have a few IEMs in my collection and my previous faves were TFZ No. 3, well not anymore. These are very nice looking IEMs with a nice finish on the faceplate. The cable is very nice but not as noce as some of my other cables, the braid is a little inconsistent, but other than that it's a nice cable. I do like not having a dongle with me. Let's talk about the sound. I wasn't expecting much from the stock tune, but it sounds good right out of the box. The bass is nice and tight with a little rumble and it extends well into the sub bass region. These aren't basshead IEMs but they do have nice bass. The mids are a little recessed which isn't a bad thing. There's a enough air in the mids to resolve some fine details. Instruments are a little cozy but it's fine. The upper mids are nice and slightly elevated which is nice and not too shouty. Vocals sound good and full. The treble is nice. I would say there is enough treble, but not too much. There are nice details in the treble with enough sparkle to sound good with cymbals without overdoing it. Too me the treble does sound a little artificial and textured. It's not bad treble, but it's not the best treble I have heard. It's still sounds great though. Overall the sound of these is great. The DSP/cable works well, it get the IEMs plenty loud and there isn't any noise present. The app needs work but the presets work well... I liked the harman target the best. I haven't played to much more with the app and since I don't need it and it wants access, I set the DSP and uninstalled it. The case is a nice addition, it's a nice leather like case, I will definitely use it. The ear tips are too small and I went with eartips I already had. They should definitely ship with better fitting eartips. Overall for this price, this is a nice great sounding and feature rich set of IEMs, give them a spin.

Pleasant balance
Enjoying the May's so far. Nicely balanced sound slightly leaning on the airy side with an analog cable. The tips are a pain to install but will go on. The ear fit is excellent and they feel light and comfortable. I really enjoy listening to acoustic rock with these. The bass is there but not the focus, the mids, vocals and treble really shine. A refreshing change to v shaped balance that dominates the market.

Articulate and Simple IEMs. Just What You Need.
I have owned this product for over a year. If you are someone who is looking for a product with a microphone and high quality sound quality, but does not want to worry about charging, this is the perfect fit. The cord is also durable and can be changed out if you are having issues at any point. So far, I have experienced no signs of wear and tear and it has been over 1 year. I have wrapped them in their luxurious leather carrying case, stuffed them in my pockets, shoved them in my backpack. They are still in perfect shape. It is an excellent value for the money, I hope to have these for life! These are lightweight and portable IEMs that come with a beautifully crafted carry case - you feel like you can pack away and protect your world! Ensure to use the case, because it can prevent the male wires from getting bent and shifted. The life of this product is excellent, and be sure to keep an eye on the male prongs connected to the wire to ensure they are situated flush against the IEMs. They can of course shift with use over time. I searched endlessly for IEMs that included a microphone. I anticipated using them for working to seamlessly transition between listening and hopping on calls, however I still use my Senneheiser work headset like I am at a call center or something since the microphone quality is not the best. The microphone can work decently if you place the microphone directly up to your mouth. You can always replace the wire if the market comes up with a wire that has a great mic (not sure if one is out there after many months of searching.) The tune is excellent for these Moondrops, they are clear and sharp. They capture elegant details and are smooth to listen to. They are beautiful and come in such gorgeous packaging, it really is a special experience. I love music!

Lost potential.
The presentation of the headphones is phenomenal and makes you feel as if you’re getting a quality product. But that’s all it is a feeling. The app does not function on IOS, there is constant connectivity issues on IOS. A CONSTANT need to disconnect and reconnect so audio is outputted, raise the volume once so the audio can be outputted. Such weird and unique issues. I’ve barely had my pair for 2 months and the back plate of the right IEM fell off without warning. Updating the review to one star. Got no help from support and the IEMs just keep getting worse and worse. Update two: one of the worst products I’ve ever purchased.

Great sound... sometimes. App is awful!
Positive: These are gorgeous earbuds. Love the design, love the shape. Negative: The stock eartips are about 3 sized too small and are a struggle to put on. I am instead using DUNU SnS tips. Positive: The stock tuning is very good, and the preset EQs are very well implemented enhancements (I prefer the Reference EQ). Negative: The EQ is not consistently applied for each source, even on the same device. While Tidal and YT Music sound exactly the way the Preset EQ is supposed to sound, switching to Amazon Music or PlexAmp sounds completely different, with lots of muddy bass added regardless of which EQ you apply. This defeats the purpose of the DSP cable if it doesn't apply the EQ you set consistently. Another Negative: The Moondrop Link app is possibly the worst app I have ever had the displeasure of using. I can only get it to recognize the USB device if I uninstall it and reinstall it again. Otherwise, it simply won't connect and says no device is connected even while I am actively playing music with it. Also - why does it need access to ALL FILES on my device to function? Why is it not in the Play store or the Amazon App store or the Samsung store? I am using the buds with the stock cable that came with my Truther x Crinacle Zero Reds. This sounds almost exactly between the Standard preset and the Reference preset EQs so I see no reason to use the DSP cable until there is an updated, reliable, usable app available. I love the earbuds. Those would get 5 stars. I like the cable for some sources but not all. That would get 4 stars. I really hate the app. I really, really hate the app. That gets 1 star. UPDATE: I applied a PEQ setting with all frequencies set to 0, so I'm now getting the stock tuning thru the DSP cable and it seems to be pretty consistent across most sources and apps. While the convenience of not needing a dongle is nice, I find the DSP function to be little more than a party trick at this point. Hoping for a firmware update to improve that. It's a good thing these sound on their own - that 6mm planar is smooth but still detailed enough, and to me sounds better than some Knowles BA IEMs I've heard. Still keeping this at 3 Stars until a firmware update happens.

Just wish it had an aux cable too
Every time I get a new phone it's because the charge port broke on the old one. I don't want to damage my current phone by having it plugged in banging around in my pocket so I bought a separate cable. I can do the same thing the included cable does with wavelet anyways. That said, I love these. I was using a pair of kz zsn pros before and I went through 3 or 4 cables before the connectors broke. Those connectors stuck out from the part that goes in your ear and the ones on these don't so I'm hoping they'll last longer. I can tell the body of these is resin 3d printed which since I own a resin 3d printer makes me nervous but it feels premium enough. Many resins are brittle so I hope they didn't cheap out on that. Very nice fit and very comfortable btw. As for the sound, these are worth the money plus the cost of the extra cable I bought. I love the sound. Just know you'll have trouble finding tuning profiles for peace and wavelet and such since most people just use the software meant for them. One last thing, the eartips are so hard to install and not the highest quality so they feel like they're gonna break as you stretch them over. I don't mind this since I've had an eartip stuck in my ear canal before and I DO NOT want that to happen again. (a doctor had to remove that) Edit: both have broken around the same time, however it was because I drop them a lot and it was an easy fix. The glue holding the metal cover on failed and I had to use CA glue to stick them back on. Maybe use some stronger glue. This wasn't too much of an issue and only took them out of commission for a few minutes. The glue has failed before the resin which says a lot about the quality of the resin.

Good Looking and Sounding IEMS (very little bass though)
My second pair of IEMS the voice clarity is veryyyy good, not bassy at all so if you want bass DO NOT get these. I’ve tried them for gaming recently and they still sound great but not very good with like hearing if they are on top of below it can be confusing at times. So questionable with gaming but still due able for sure. What i do love is the look/style love the silver and the name May being my birth month which they just had more bass like the Chu II and a 3.5mm aux.

Exceptional Audio Quality for the Price (16/24 Bits)
The Moondrop May delivers outstanding audio performance, far surpassing my AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) in sound clarity and detail. To experience its full potential, I recommend using high-quality streaming platforms like Apple Music that support 16-bit or 24-bit audio. While the built-in DSP handles up to 24-bit audio flawlessly, I did notice occasional stuttering with 32-bit tracks. For those, an external DAC is advisable to ensure smooth playback and optimal performance. Since I don't use 32 Bits, its 5 Stars for me.

IEM great w/o the DAC cable (DAC cable EQ cannot be adjusted on iPhones)!
I don't like the cable dac. The dac settings cannot be adjusted on an iPhone, and the android app is average. However the IEMs are great. I use them with custom cables. They sound great and fit great. I prefer Mays (without the DAC cable) to Zero: Reds.
