I've waited about six months to do this review as I installed this door on my coop tye day after I got it. The door was easy to install and set up. It's opened and closed everyday on time without fail and continues to do so. The bottom line is its worth every penny and continues to do its job without fail every day rain or shine. Battery is still strong and seems to be holding up well also. You do need to keep any debris cleaned out of the bottom of the door or it won't fully close per its safety mechanism but that's no fault of the door but rather messy chickens.

This is a great product! Easy to install, and my chickens love it! Now I don’t worry about them being safe! At first I thought the opening would be too small for my very tall rooster, but he has no problem with it, he walks right through. I recommend this to anyone with chickens. Love the solar panel too! It was such a hassle before having to manually open and close the door, and this will make going on vacation much easier!

Overall works well. Installation was very straightforward, the timer was easy to set up and it keeps a full charge with the solar panel. Only issue is about 1/2 of the nights I’ve noticed it doesn’t close completely (only about 3/4 of the way). We have sand in our coop so I’m not sure if it’s causing the mechanism to get a bit gritty or what it is. The door simply leads from our coop to the enclosed run so it hasn’t been a predator issue for us, certainly could be for those who free-range. Overall it’s made our chickens much more self-sufficient which we love!

My last door was Amazon’s top rated Chicken Run which ate batteries that I had to manually install, but this Nypots model seems to have beaten. I loved the closed electronics with rechargeable battery that I recharge with the provided solar charger. I don’t get a lot of sun where it reaches but it only needs a few hours a day. It is lightweight aluminum yet sturdy enough to protect my birds. There are three ways to set the timer for opening and closing and the extremely handy front screen with large lettering makes it easy to set up and change modes. It took this 70 year old woman ten minutes to install on my precut opening, including attaching the solar charger. The additional remote keeps me from bending over if I want to open/ close the door myself. The price is way better as well. I wiil update if anything changes.

I installed one of these last February. Easy to setup, worked great.Last Friday morning I noticed the red charging light was not displayed as it normally was every other morning for the last 8 months.I emailed the vendor asking if the door was charging even though there was no charging light.The door stilled worked as advertised.Saturday I received a very polite email asking for my order number and shipping address and the would send me a new door, no questions, no returns.I wasn’t expecting a new door for a few weeks.WhAT A pleasant surprise to find a brand new door was delivered today.IT TOOK AbOUT 60 HOURS from the time I asked about an issue that concerned me and when I received a new door.UNBELIEVABLE Customer Service!!!!!!!'!!!!

Great product, easy to install, works great. Have had it for 5-6 months now I think? Does not get stuck or jammed from bedding, and I love the remote so I can use it to let some of my stubborn chickens in without having to go into the coop. I had one issue where my chickens pulled the cord out and the plastic piece that plugs into the door broke. I messaged the seller and they replied back within 24 hrs and had a replacement cord with the solar panel attached sent out to me at no cost, and it arrived in 2 days. Customer service is awesome, and I love this product. Would gladly buy from them again and highly recommend

I wanted to use this for a bit before writing a review and after 3 months of use, I can say I'm really happy with it. I have it set to run on the clock timer and it hasn't missed an open or close yet. I can leave with confidence it will work. While it's not a great choice for coop protection from bigger animals like bears or coyotes, smaller animals would have a hard time getting past it if you attach it securely. The remote works consistently from maybe 35' away (haven't tested it any farther) and it's easy to program. The door is my second line of defense since the coop itself is surrounded by ranch panels with 2"x4" woven wire. We get a LOT of snow here, so I'll have to wait to see how that all comes together. I covered the red charging light with electrician's tape since the chickens were obsessed with it. Duh. (odd place for it) I'd but it again in a heartbeat.
