nice calendar but the photos significantly misrepresent how 3d this is. there's a fold out flap at the front. that's it.misleading product photography.

My wife set me the challenge of finding her a traditional advent calendar (without chocolates!) and they are not easy to find. Alter a trawl through several sites and in a hurry I selected this one.Good: 3D aspects of design - the city wall with gate helps the calendar stand and adds interest to the calendar The translucent quality of the backing material means that it give a very good stained glass window effect when placed on a window sill The doors a well perforated and open easilyPoor: The backing material is not well attached to the cardboard of the calendar which means that from an angle it looks very shoddy and cheap. Because it is attached at the top and bottom it makes it very difficult to glue the edges to correct the problem.Overall The single fault of being poorly made overcomes all the good points of this calendar because you cannot give it as a gift without taking it out of its packaging and effecting repairs only buy it if you are prepared to do this. Do not send direct as a gift.

This is a proper Religious advent calendar and the characters were authentically drawn. The little pictures and Bible quotations were very appropriate.

Sadly although it says that this calendar is free standing it isn't and that means that you have to prop it up against something rather than it taking centre stage on the table which is what I had envisaged. Given that it doesn't stand up I think it is very overpriced.
