This adapter works great! However, there are faster models out there that are rated at 2.5 or maybe 5 Gbps. If your switch or router is rated at 1 Gbps, then this is what you want. No driver is required to make this work which is great! I have connected the Ethernet cable directly to a Roku player and it worked like that also. This NIC supports Auto-MDI/MDI-X, so a regular straight-through cable works for direct host-to-host, no switch/router needed.

I was using an HP that I bought about 13 years ago. My provider gave me a better deal and sent a new router. My old computer would not recognize the new router. It had a Windows 7 in it, so I thought it must need an update to work. I had a computer store put in Windows 10. It still did not recognize the new router. I then tried putting it in direct contact with this new router with an ethernet cable. That didn't work either. I saw this connector advertised on daily deals for tv's and searched for one to use with computers. This connection arrived in two days, I plugged it in, and immediately the computer recognized the new router. If anything else was in play, I don't know what it could have been, so my conclusion is this worked a miracle to connect my computer to the new router. I love it
