I bl00dy love this album
Aah, Big Red Letter Day. So many memories. Every song on this album is a gem, from start to finish. I cannot overstate its genius. From the seminal classic 'Tree House' to 'Anything That Way' or 'Suppose' it is simply one of my all-time favourite albums.Classic.

red letter day review
Excellent must have album, very under rated. One to be added to anyone's collection. Every track is well performed and produced.

I very much enjoyed this and would recommend it to people who enjoy the music of Sugar or Husker Du

The worst out of a great lot
This was in fact Buffalo Tom's 4th album release after the self titled debut, Birdbrain and the awesome Let Me Come Over. It is by the very comparison to the album that preceded it that this album fails on many levels. If Let Me Come Over wasn't ever made this album would've been a revelation instead, for me, it was a disappointment. Why? I love Buffalo Tom. I'm actually travelling down from Nottingham tonight to see them in London for their Three Easy Pieces release gig. I love this album too but the debut, Birdbrain and the aforementioned LMCO promised so much more. For Big Red Letter Day they replaced the bleeding guitar sound for an altogether lighter approach akin to the Lemonheads sound, which wasn't a surpirise as the Robb Brothers were producing. In doing this the whole dynamic of the band changed for good.Don't get me wrong, BRLD has it's moments especially in the opening 3 songs of Sodajerk, I'm Allowed and Treehouse however, the passion heard on the previous albums has been lost. This was a definite attempt to maximise the cult status of the band and the fact LMCO was being lauded as a classic. BRLD just lacks the balls of the previous three long players. On it's own though, it is a gentle pop album that long hot summers were made for.
