selma FID - Ultimate Rope Splicing Tool

I've been splicing lines for years, but I thought I'd try this design to splice several 1/2" lines. While I never really had an issue with traditional fids, I have to say that these are easier to use. They're stainless steel with a beautiful smooth finish. The only negative is the price. When you look at what you're getting for your money, they seem overpriced. Then again, I'm sure these aren't being sold by the thousands every month.

I used these for splicing 3/8 Amsteel / dyneema. They make it easy to splice hollow braided line.

Appears to be the fid brand used by professionals. Quality stainless doesn't snag. Good assortment for most sizes of rope. Very pleased.

Works great!! The instructions that came with the set were only in French. Other than that they perform as advertised.

Bought this product in case I ever needed to put a rope together. Coincidentally I recently bought a spool that was poorly spliced together and it came in handy. Can’t go wrong with the variety size needles.

These are great quality fids, but unfortunately the instructions that came with them are only in French. I probably should’ve taken a star off for that since it wasn’t disclosed in the listing, but I didn’t. The fids are really smooth and are of fine quality.Haven’t had the chance to try them out yet, but am going to try them out soon.
