This thing is huge compared to my old 10 and 3 quarter mail slot. Ended up having to buy this twice because I had a brain fart and didn't think about just cutting into the wood shingles since the mailslot cutout is a non standard size that was done some time in the 50s. In terms of the product, it's amazing. High quality metal, hinge seems well built, and after installing this, the furnace now runs less often because there was a wicked draft from the old one. I paid around forty for this, and I feel after researching heavily, it is worth the money. Enjoy the before and after pictures. This is a 13 inch by about 3.5 inch slot. I know it doesn't say that in the item description unless you go hunting for specs. Very happy with this for forty plus tax. Would buy again if I had to install another one. It fits the mailslot hole just fine, but as I said, I did have to cut out some shingle because in my case, the hole was only 10 inches by around 3. Hinge also seems sturdy.

The ad did not say screws would be included. Foolishly, I expected they would automatically be sent. Now I need to buy 8 flat head, short screws.
