I have used cheap metallic thread, which my sewing machine did not like and so this Madeira thread was recommended. I had no problems at all and it produced excellent results. I use it for the top thread in my machine, with normal thread in the bobbin.

Must try with metallic needle for machine quilting as did not work with topstitch or ordinary sewing machine needles
