Works As Advertised
This is a nice little unit from Tonor that blocks sound reflections from the equipment rack, monitor, and wall directly behind it. However, it is not designed to block reflections from elsewhere in the studio, nor does it — so I am adding acoustical foam on those spots.Be advised that there are some issues with the mounting hardware:1) The screw adapter shown at the red arrow in photo 1 was not listed as a part online or in the accompanying instructions. Fortunately it was included because it is required to mount the acoustic baffle onto the 5/8" male thread on my mike boom.2) Unfortunately, however, the capped black cylinder that suspends the mike terminates in a 3/8" male thread instead of a 5/8" male thread necessary to screw into the 5/8" female Audio Technica mike suspension mount. This required me to spend a few bucks on a chrome 3/8" female to 5/8" male adapter (shown at the green arrows in both photos). It's a minor quibble, but I advise potential buyers to check the thread size on their mike stands to see if it compatible with the included hardware. I was surprised because a 5/8" thread is standard with microphone mounts — at least in the USA. Perhaps this item was intended to be used with the Tonor mike shown in the ads.It would be nice if the online ad gives the thread specifications. Still, I recommend this mike baffle, even if you need to buy the extra adapter to make it work for you. Some reviews here suggest contacting Tonor about this or any other issue.

It’s big enough and really works to isolate the mic
I needed something big enough to surround the microphone from the back and sides…this did the trick. I love the flexibility of the folding sides. It is well built and easy to install. Overall good value. Very pleased. It helps with my recording in my home studio where there is ambient noise from the HVAC system fan and just general stuff from people moving around in the rest of the house. I don’t want to have to wait for absolute silence, so this is a real help.

So far so good
I’ve been working with the Tonor Microphone Isolation Shield for about a week now. I actually really like the product as it does what it is described to do. I definitely can hear a better vocal in the mix than I did without it. It is a bit heavy (or makes the entire head heavy. The reason I am giving it a 4 and not a five is the way it is configured it’s not easy to use with a boom mic stand (unless I am doing something wrong). If it came with the different female/male mic holder or the shield holder it might’ve worked in this boom stand. I haven’t tried my other stands but took some photos so you could see. The appearance is professional looking and it certainly does its job.

Works well
I purchased this to reduce echo as I was limited on the changes I could make to my office.Installation isn't difficult but the instructions could have been easier to follow by using the name of the parts instead of the part numbers which meant I kept having to refer to the parts diagram (ie. "Mount the 6 onto the 7").I am using a Snowball microphone and this didn't work with my shock mount as the base couldn't handle the distribution of weight would fall over.I was able to get it to work without the shockmount by being careful to adjust the tripod legs to distribute the weight evenly but I have to be careful not to accidentally bump it as it could easily fall over. While this is designed for a microphone that isn't as wide as the Snowball, it still gets the job done and my sound quality is much improved with it.

A good product, but it broke. Followed by Great Customer Service to correct the issue!
Update: 2019-01-07 ( Five Stars for Customer Service )In my original review shown below, I gave the product a 1-star rating due only to the fact that it broke. I now increase the rating to an average of 3-stars due to outstanding 5-star customer service.TONOR customer service has been very good in addressing the issue I experienced with the Mic Shield. They replied up to my product review, and another member of their team also contacted me as a follow-up.We have worked together to resolve the issue with the Mic Shield, and for the great efforts by Tonor customer support and their willingness to seek a correction to the issue I have upgraded my over all rating.Honestly this was a great surprise and something I didn’t expect at all.Thank you very much to the Tonor customer service staff!Original Review: 2019-01-01 ( One Star due to broken product )In general, it is an interesting and rather adaptive mic shield. The folding style construction allows for this to be packed up and moved from location to location with reasonable ease.As for the performance of this shield, that will vary with application and location. This is a reasonable small shield, so it won’t shield too much sound from the mic, or past the mic.The major draw-back is the product failure that happened within hours of installation. The threaded mount which is welded (or not) to the base of the shield, has fallen off. There appears to be 2 very small tack welds, which failed to penetrate the shield framework enough to hold. This item should be sent back for replacement, period, end of story. But, it was needed immediately so I fixed it.The attached images show the failed mounting point, part of the repair and the shield back at work. This repair won’t be available to most people, and the product should just be returned. For the price, this product should not have failed. Can't say that I would recommend this product.
