A Personal Movie Theater with Crisp Display , On Board Android, Simple Navigation and File Management
The media could not be loaded. have had this for four days. finally a personal theater that works. the display is clear. bought a galaxy s6 and gear vr two years ago to watch movies and series. but the screen door effect is terrible and spoils the experience. that was my biggest concern. the reviews were praising the display and am not disappointed. if i were to do a ranking from 0 to 10 for sde with 10 being the worst, this one would rank this about 0.2 maybe with the gear vr touching ten. so the display is crisp, clear. the screen size is large. people come to different impressions of the size. i would compare it with the 80" and 140" image i get from two projector set ups i have. and i'd that i would roughly need to quadruple the 80" display i.e lay two of them side by side and then stack this extended arrangement vertically. so about 160" is my impression. overall a big size screen - not as big as one gets with VR headsets such as Gear VR but pretty big.supports 3d side by side files - comes with a 3d demo file which illustrates the 3d capabilities very well.runs android 5 - had no problems installing prime video, netflix, hotstar, sonyliv, kodi. easy to copy files from computer to the headset - just have to plug in to a usb port on the laptop with the other end going into the micro usb port. comes with a mouse which one can plug into the usb port. had a usb remote that i used for an android stick. used that to have a cursor available for navigating the device. has a mciro sd slot into which i have put in a 32 GB card(it accepts upto 128GB) i had lying around and there's plenty storage available.waited for this one with an included battery to become available- ordered it almost the same day it became available - had to wait a few weeks for a friend to get it over to India. the standalone costs jsut 20$ more and to me it seems the indisputably better option - the other one requires external power and media sources - it ought to be a no brainer to opt for this one.so i have an all in one standalone media player available for me. my use has been restricted to watching movies and series and finally i seem to have a working device. the battery lasts about 3 - 3 1/2 hours without wifi. so i download the prime, netflix videos over wifi and watch them offline. in terms of fit, i never use the straps on any of these headsets as that immediately gives me a headache - so its hold and watch for me but otherwise there's the adjustable strap which would take car e of the fit. on the whole, a very good package and the crisp display after the terrible sdes of the Oculus Rift DK2 and the Gear VR is delightful. overall, a good deal - i am satisfiedin the videos and screen shots that i generated by installing screen recorder inside the device and using it - you shall see the image split into two parts. this thing uses two fast switch lcd screens and looking through the lenses one sees a combined, sharp, single picture.
