The only sturdy aspect of construction is the bars. All joints are thin, fragile plastic. Assembly is difficult because the pieces are not well-fitted to each other, and clamps do not tighten. It did not fit in my car (Nissan Rogue) and would not hold even a 15 lbs dog, because the attachment points require flat, parallel surfaces, and the interior of my vehicle has molded surfaces. It was a moot point, since the telescoping poles would not clamp and collapsed under a few lbs of pressure no matter what I tried. The entire thing is not worth the cost of shipping.

Love this product! My husband runs a team of security k9s, and though I love the fur balls, I dont love them right in my lap while I am driving. This was easy to install and fit right in our jeep no problem, I can also switch it over to my rogue easily. I gave one to my mom for christmas to keep her Great Dane in the back of her car and she lives it too. Will definetly buy more for my husband work vehicles. FYI, the security k9s did get mad and try to chew it up and tear it down but it prevailed perfectly.

Took a while to assemble. Worked for a while but my dog ended up bumping it with her tail and half of it fell down. Could use stronger parts, but not bad for the price.

We purchased this to keep our two Huskies out of the front seats of our Nissan Pathfinder. The instructions for assembly are crude and I ended up just looking at the finished product to figure it out. It doesn't fit in our Pathfinder very well but we are willing to give it a try. I have the legs as tight as that can but they are very flimsy. Only time will tell and I will update my review at a later date. One humorous note, in one portion of the instructions it says that this is a god guard.

For the price you pay it gets the job done, the instructions are not the clearest but you can get the jizst of it. It's not rock solid but it keeps my Husky in the back.

We didn't have any reason to put this together, unfortunately, prior to the return period expiring. When we needed it, in order to transport the dogs to the vet, we attempted to put it together. As with so many things these days, it seems that quality control is no longer in existence - one of the 'screws' (actually not really a screw but threaded like a screw) wouldn't tighten. The bar just slipped up and down when it was tightened as much as possible, but if we tried to tighten it more it just 'popped' past that point and it was if we hadn't even tightened it at all. Very cheaply made. The whole thing is unusable because we can't put that side together and get it to stay where we need it to stay, so it was just a total waste of money.

I purchased this for my Toyota matrix to keep my 90lb German shepherd in the rear of the car. Much to my surprise it works perfectly. I admit it took two adults to put it together, but after all was said and done it does the job. Not to sure how happy my fur baby is not being able to hang her head out the window, but it's a safety concern! I give it two thumbs up

The feet fall off all the time. And if my dog leans against it, the things falls on her and scares her every time. Not very sturdy in the car.
