Have not heard this album for so many years since the vinyl days. I love and still know it off by heart. Great album and so many numbers from this legendary singer

I have listened to the Vinyl version for many years as this is ta really great LP. Bought this so I could hear it in the car.

simply the best album joan has ever done, probably followed by "Come From The Shadows" I would highly recommmend it to anyone who is a fan of Joan Baez and her work.

I had the original vinyl in the early 70's a brilliant album with wonderful moving songs, and what a voice, perfection.

Classic Joan Baez - songs with meaning and feeling. Marie Flore, San Francisco's Mabel Joy, Outside the Nashville City Limits - all very human images strong enough to move a person to tears. Singable melodies that haunt you for years to come, from Blessed Are to Three Horses to Fifteen Months. Highly recommended think and feel music set within a timeless musical composition that never gets old!

This is a music cd. It is a personal preference thing. It's a 60's Joan Baez, great.

Viele Jahre habe ich nach dieser CD gesucht.Hatte die Titel mal auf einer sehr alten Musikkassette aufgenommen.Wer Joan Baez mag, muss diese CD haben. Wirklich klasse Aufnahmen inguter Qualität.

Blessed Are ist das letzte Album, das Joan Baez für Vanguard eingespielt hat. Darauf findet sich ihr größter Hit, "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down". Dieses Album ist sowohl kommerziell als auch künstlerisch ein großer Erfolg. Es finden sich einige Baez Kompositionen wie "Blessed Are" oder "Outside The Nashville City Limits" darauf genauso wie extrem gelungene Covers. Besonders nennenswert erscheinen mir "Angeline" und "San Francisco Mabel Joy" von M. Newbury. Definitiv eines ihrer besten Alben, voller Emotion, stimmgewaltig wie immer und fein produziert, wenn auch ein bißchen viel Country... .

非常にすぐれた　バックのメンバーに支えられ　伸び伸びと歌っている。プロテステトシンガーとかフォークソングの女王とかではなく1人のシンガーとして自分の歌いたかったうたを歌っているように感じられる。フォークソング弾き語りというよりは　カントリーに近い。ジョーンバエズを聞きたい人、いいヴォーカルを聞きたいひとこれをお勧めします。

Ms. Baez foray into contemporary material reaches fruition with Stevie Wonder,Mickey Newberry, the Beatles(!!)and the Band(!) providing her material, she is as far removed from her earlier pure folk albums; yet equally successful in her interpretations. Listen to her covers of let it be and help me make it through the night; two songs far removed from Joan’s folk leanings, but nicely covered. The two bonus tracks demonstrate that she hasn’t forgotten her folk roots. A successful contemporary update to her repertoire, and a solid recommendation.

Whichever version you buy, you will be receiving a Great one.The Original release was a double LP which also included a '45 RPM' single that contained the songs "Plane Wreck at Los Gatos" and "Maria Dolores".The 1994 Vanguard 2 CD version has the entire double album on one CD and the `45' on a second CD. The 1994 Vanguard version does NOT have the "Warm and Tender Love" Woodstock performance bonus track.The 2005 Vanguard 2 CD version has the bonus Woodstock track of "Warm and Tender Love", along with the original two "45" songs.The 2005 double CD is the ONLY place where you can get Joan's Woodstock performance of "Warm and Tender Love" and it is well worth owning.

Loved this CD, includes hit such as the Night they drove old dixie down, outside the nashville city limits, san francisco mabel joy and is a remarkable glimpse into Joan Baez from the early 70's. Sweet and clear, her voice has aged since then, but never has sounded as good as on Blessed Are...a must have for any Joan Baez fan...
