Assembled from Joans nationwide tour of Autumn 1961 through to the Spring of 1962, Joan Baez In Concert showcased the wide variety of material that Joan featured in her show, ranging from gospel (Gospel Ship), blues (Babe Im Gonna Leave You), message songs (What have They Done To The Rain) to African traditional (Kumbaya) through to Brazilian love songs (Ate Amanha, which is sung in Portuguese throughout). It was Joans version of Babe Im Gonna Leave You that brought the song to Led Zeppelins attention, although their version would end up entirely different from Joans!

Like this. The choice of songs is fine. One grumble. I think the cd is from quite a few concerts, rather than one. Still shows you how good joan baez was live around this time

Sound quality issue.
I echo what others have said here, both positive and negative. Beautiful songs, beautiful voice but really poor sound quality on this mono recording. The problems revolve mostly around the recording volume level, which fluctuates wildly and detracts from the performance. Such a pity.

special
super songs by the brilliant Baez, and so heartfelt in their live rendition. Will never stop playing this till I die and may even have some at my funeral!
