Even as a Mikrotik advocate and fanboy I can honestly say that this is a good product. I'm using it as a Boundary router for the fibre connected Smarthome. It's not maxed out and we shift Terabytes of data around every week. Only complaint / comment is that there is a fan but it is noisy and sounds like it about to give up the ghost. But its important to get a Mikrotik with a fan especially if you use SFP+ ports. Dont be fooled the 10G ports run very hot. Mikrotik do a few passive 10G devices but I would not rate your chances.As usual RouterOS is great when it works and when it does not and you misconfigure something important like a firewall rule ... you did make a backup so you can reset and restore !!This product is a good way to get started with a 2.5G Router not just switch.

De los equipos mikrotik que llevo comprado, este es lo cotrario a lo que me tiene acostumbrado la marca. Un switch chino tiene mejores acabados. No voy a entrar en las prestaciones que tiene, porque para mi no hay nada mejor por el precio. Pero es que se nota a la legua que quisieron ahorrar tanto que le pusieron lo mas malo que encontraron y de la peor manera. Extremadamente ruidoso su ventilador, y con unos disipadores ridiculos. Y su pintura y serigrafias se enborronan como tengas algo de sudor en las manos. Productos mucho más económicos de mikrotik, tienen mejor disipacion y acabados que esto.

Amazing switch. Works really well. Only annoying thing is the 18-57v input power. I would have preferred 12v or PoE but oh well.

The management is very easy, there is a web interface and a ssh interface that looks a bit like Cisco IOS. It helps you select commands when you press TAB, for instance. You can modify configs for multiple ports at once using regex search terms. There is a safe mode you can enter with CTRL-X, which saves you from shutting yourself out of the router when you make a mistake.What's also nice is that the switch sends out MNDP (MikroTik Neighbor Discovery Protocol) packets on each port identifying that port to whatever is connected - similar to the Cisco Discovery ProtocolThis is high quality gear at a low price. I've been searching for a while, and I've seen nothing else at this price point that does 2x 10G SFP+, and 8x 2.5G, while also doing LACP/VLAN/QoS/etc. I've bought two, and I am probably going to hook both up to a 10G backbone switch, using the two SFP+s in LACP mode to get 20G aggregated.The case doesn't get hot, it doesn't even get warm. It comes with brackets to mount it in a 19" rack. Obviously that means a lot of wasted space since you can fit more than 2 of these side by side in a 19" frame, but handy nonetheless. EDIT: I contacted support and they pointed out that you can buy a special bracket to mount two of these side-by-side (RMK-2/10 rack mount kit, "rmk2_10").The company is from Lithuania. You can get cheaper ones from China probably, but this gear is EU made, so warranty is assured and support is good.

Tipica configurazione Mikrotik. Funzionale e silenzioso, nelle operazioni non pesanti, anche se con raffreddamento attivo. Consiglio l'acquisto di una Noctua NF-A4x20 PWM da 12V da andare a sostituire con la ventola di serie, non perché quella di serie sia cattiva, anzi è efficace ma rumorosa all'avvio dello switch o nelle situazioni di utilizzo intensivo anche se in realtà non è nulla di così fastidioso.Da qualche settimana è stato rilasciato anche il firmware per utilizzare SWos. NON è POE, se dovesse servirvi questa funzionalità.Una pecca è lo spazio tra le porte 2,5gbit dove degli rj45 con cappuccio potrebbero darsi fastidio l'un l'altro se ingombranti. Altra pecca è che, nel momento in cui scrivo la recensione, il prezzo di acquisto di amazon è troppo elevato. Siamo sull'indice dei 270 eura circa quando dai venditori terzi si trova anche a 210 con spedizione. Infatti uno lo ho acquistato da amazon e un altro da un venditore terzo (getic).Per tutto il resto a mio parere vale 5 stelle.Edit 29/07/2024: la ventola d'estate si sente un po' di più a causa delle temperature esterne elevate. Tuttavia con la Noctua per me è tranwuillamente sopportabile in quanto lo switch lo tengo in studio e ci sono anche le ventole del computer che comunque fanno rumore e quindi non ci faccio nemmeno caso. Sarà di fficile che lo tieniate nello stesso punto in cui dormite, pertanto lo consiglio sempre e comunque.
