Yes - The covers have zippers and can be removed and are washable.

Is it able to detach the two pillows to use?

Yes! I detached mine and only use the larger portion. I didn't like it under my legs.

I use it the pillow for reading and the support is excellent. In my opinion it would be good for breast feeding.
