Question 1

Are these compatible with the original freestyle pump?

Accepted Answer

Hi Anonymous 123--- The Hands-free Collection Cups are compatible with the Medela Freestyle Hands-free, Freestyle Flex, Swing Maxi, and Pump In Style MaxFlow breast pumps. They are not designed for use with the original Freestyle breast pump. Please reach out to us at 800-435-8316 if you have any questions. We're happy to help!

Question 2

Do an O ring to have the pump work properly?

Accepted Answer

Hi Samantha Youngs--- Great question! Yes, the O-ring is needed for the Collection Cups to seal properly. The O-rings come applied to the 24 mm breast shields, if using the 21 mm breast shields please be sure to remove them and reapply them onto the 21 mm before use. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us at 800-435-8316 if you have any additional questions. We'd be happy to help!

Question 3

Question 4

Medela, since there are lots complaints about the new Oring update, will you consider bringing the original design back?

Accepted Answer

Hi Khanh V. Nguyen--- Thank you for your question! At Medela we continuously look to improve and enhance our products. As part of the iterative process to ensure our customers have access to the high-quality Medela products they count on, we made some incremental improvements to the initial design of the cups, including the addition of the O-ring. This design change with the added O-ring was to create a more robust seal, as well as improve the lifespan of your cups. Please feel free to contact us at 800-435-8316 with any questions. We're happy to help!
