every so often my door won't stay down when closing. Could it be the the opener itself? Or the remote control.

When this happens to me it's because there's somthing obstructing the sensors on the doors (one on each side, near the ground). It's cobwebs or dust or something. I give them a little clean and try them again with the remote. It's for this reason that I never just drive away and press the button and assume the garage door is going to close. I make sure it closes before I drive away.
