Wow!
Possibly the best one of these I've ever seen, solid quality plastic, many more features than I've seen on other models and well thought out design. Before it is even installed I was impressed by the fact that the reset tool (which is incredibly easy to use compared to other resettable call points) can also be used to open the box for installation, someone obviously put thought into the design! The tool can be used to remove the backbox which is another bonus feature, it includes two different boxes of different heights to suit your needs. Once inside you will see that the mechanism runs on four microswitches, why four? Well two of them are obviously enough to completely interrupt the magnet, one of them is used by the device itself which we will come to, which leaves you with a spare to signal the status of the callpoint back to your system. This thing really starts to shine when you connect it up. This is an active device with LEDs and a buzzer, the LEDs light green so that the point can be found even in darkness which has your health and safety angle covered but also act to indicate that the point has been tripped which is this things party piece. When the microswitch finds that the call point has been tripped you get audio and visual indication (see vid), the lights and buzzer can both independently be set to solid on or flashing and as a totally unnecessary bonus feature there is a potentiometer to adjust the buzzer volume. I am so used to seeing utilitarian products like this built down to a price but not here, this is quality throughout without sparing a part.

A very versatile call point!
This call point is not only re-settable it also have the ability to control 3 NO/COM/NC circuits. You can control the volume of the buzzer by a knob on the inside, or you can disable the buzzer completely. You also have the ability to change how the LEDs work and if you don't want either the buzzer or the LEDs the call point still works without power (great for battery backed up system where you might not want the LEDs on battery backup). You get 2 sizes of back box, I opted for the smaller one and it looks pretty neat on the wall with the slimmer back box. I love the LED feature as it allows you to quickly spot with call point as been triggered even from afar if your monitoring circuit covered multiple call points. The buzzer feature could be used along side with a timed release of the door, allowing your staff to be alerted that a call point has been triggered and giving you some time to get to the door and prevent "customers" trying to claim a 5 finger discount on your stock (double check your regs, but our local fire inspector said a 15 second delay was fine on these door release buttons as long as the doors auto release if the fire alarm is triggered). It comes with a protective cover for the call point to help prevent accidental triggers. Overall I am very impressed with the call point. There are cheaper ones on the market, but those typically don't have all the features this one comes with.

Well made, lots of installation/function options...
This is a well made little box, decent plastic used with a tiny bit of flex as opposed to the rock hard/brittle stuff. Also great to have 2 sizes of back-box included in the kit. When taking apart, you insert the reset key into the top holes. There are 2 holes in the bottom also, but that is for taking off the face to expose the mechanism, which you shouldn't need to do. The board is clearly marked with all the connection points, and there is also a detailed instruction leaflet for all the options available. Good to see that light/sound adjustments for the switch can all be changed as required, and even the sounder volume can be adjusted. The whole white-plate area on the front is the actual button release, not just the centre black spot in the middle. Basically, you can press anywhere on that white plate and it will trip the switch (not much pressure needed). Two little dot-indents keep the clear front cover in place... not tight at all, but likely enough to stop it blowing open in the wind if sited next to an exposed door/open warehouse etc. (This clear cover can also be removed very easily if required). Altogether it's a great bit of kit, and although I'll only be using this in its' most basic form (12V door release lock), there's enough options/connection points to allow for a much more sophisticated installation. On a quality/value-for-money basis... 5-Stars.

Great call point
First impressions are very good. It comes with everything you will need to install it which is always nice to find as typically you need to get all the pieces individually. The unit and back box are very sturdy which for something that is going to be used in an emergency is something you look for in a product. The switch itself is quick and easy to trigger, once triggered the orange bar is visible making it easy to determine when a call point has been triggered especially if you have multiple of them on a monitoring circuit. The button has 2 sets of NO/NC/COM contacts allowing you to operate two separate circuits with a single button which is very useful if you have a scenario where you want to release a door but your refuge point is on the other side of an external gate it can release the gate at the same time. Overall I am very impressed with it.

Well worth consideration.
A few weeks ago I wrote a review for a cheaper (by £8.00) resettable emergency door lock release from the same seller that provide this lock release. It was somewhat disparaging-and I haven’t changed my opinion of that particular model. This model is also from SecureMyDoor and is in a different class altogether. I like the see through cover, it adds a touch of class. I like the LEDs that change from green to red when the door release is pressed. This unit inspires confidence, you just know it’ll work when called upon. There are a number of parameters that are user friendly. It can be linked into a wired alarm system. It has adjustable volume which can be turned off altogether, as can the LED lights. I do have one issue though. There are two small holes, one through the see through case and one through the body of the emergency release to pass a cable tie through-and I’m quoting from the instructions-“….to prevent it from opening”. That surely makes having an emergency door release pretty pointless if you can’t open it to access the button! All in all this is a far better product than their cheaper version. I didn’t think much of the other-but this one is well worth consideration

Good Quality
These seem well constructed and attractively designed surface mount emergency door release units. There is a neat design layout on the internal PCB and the soldered joints are neat and clean. Nice to see green and red indicator LED'S on this unit as not commonplace. Visual cues are important for meeting the needs with those with hearing loss. The flexibility of the voltage range is very useful for ensuring compatability with exisiting set-ups.
