Q: I have a chow/golden retriever mix that needs a butt cut. Her butt is REALLY fluffy. Will this cut through all that hair without overheating?

I have a hairy, double coated mutt that showed up a few years ago and because her hair is long and fine, it picks up every burr in our fields. And she is why I bought the heavy duty Andis. I use a #3 3/4 skip tooth, cuts about 1/2" (you may want to get one that cuts 3/4" or more, but the skip tooth makes for a more layered look than the full tooth blades. Get the blade size you want but I would suggest the skip tooth blade for those thick coats. You may have to stop for awhile if the blade get too hot, especially to begin with. I cut my dog every couple mo nths so it doesn't take so much effort each time. You might want to do it outside also. We live in the country and I just let the wind blow the hair into the fields-easy clean up!

Q: which model and blades would work best for grooming our Bichons ?

I bought this model and I use the #10 blade for face, the special "foot blade" for feet and #7 if I want to shave them down. If you don't want to shave them close with the #7, use the #10 with one of the guards over it. (I bought the set of attachable guards that allow the coat to be cut to different lengths.)

Q: I just received the Andis AGC2 2-speed pro clippers. Is there an attachment kit for the different lengths needed, it only came with the #10 blade?

I have not seen an attachment kit. We use our old guards from another brand of clipper on ours. Be careful as it does get hot! Otherwise they work great!
