My dpd powder looks crystalized. Bought it last year and just opened it. Is it bad?

This reagent is one of those with a shorter shelf life in the Taylor catalog. There should be an expiration date printed on the bottle. It may still be good, but proceed with care if it is over a year old. According to Taylor, with respect to the R-0870 reagent, this may help you identify if the reagent has become compromised and should be discarded: "As it degrades, the color will turn from an off-white color to gray or purplish gray and will gradually become a purplish brown color." As a general precaution, Taylor recommends replacing all reagents more than one year old.

what is the expiration date

The seller on mine was EZ Test Pool Supplies and the expiration Date is 08/22

Is there any way to know the expiration date of the current product? Some seller sent me product expired last year?

All product is 1 or 2 years for expiration. Ask the seller to send a newer one.

What is the difference between R-0870 and R-0870-l ?

R-0870 is the number of the reagent. The additional suffix such as -I or -J indicates the size. R-0870-I is 10 grams. R-0870-J is the same reagent in 0.25 lb size.

Product expires soon

Been using this product for a while and it works well, but this order shows up and the product expires in less than 6 months. Should give you at least a years use or more . No good .

Easy and accurate

Along with the test solution, which I ordered separately, I can now measure chlorine and bromine more accurately and precisely than with the standard color matching Taylor test kit. Also quite easy to do.
