Pros and cons: TLDR worth for 2.5g or smaller
The media could not be loaded. Pro, super small, cute and compact without losing functionality. Can be loud unless you make sure all bubbles are out of the motor chamber. After that, you wouldn't even know you had a HOB running. I was SUPER skeptical because of other reviews. But my item came fully intact, working and wonderful. I think the biggest "oof" was finding out I'll need to clean the uptake tube more often, it being clear, makes a great spot for algae to grow. I just use a straw or pipe cleaner. Not for little fish
It got delivered today for my 1-gallon fish tank to separate the aggressors. I was so excited to use it since the mini sponge filter seems to do so little. But I'm so disappointed; it killed a few of my endlers right away. It sucked them into the hole and ground them into pieces. I regret that I didn't block the hole, thinking that it would slow the water filtering.

Good filter if you keep the impeller clean
It's a nice compact filter for my 1 gal tank, though it started making noises after a couple of days. I has some silicon grease in my toolbox and it solved the noise problem. It's compact and powerful.

Tiny, powerful, and silent
This is the smallest HOB filter i could find. It is TINY. But it’s perfect for a 1 or 2 gallon tank. Im using it on my 1.5 gal soon-to-be shrimp tank. Once it was running it’s completely silent.

Works for a day or 2 then you will have to take it apart, clean everything and hope it works. It's powerful though. Sent 2 of my small fish to the big tank in the sky. Turned one of them to a smoothie, yum. I wish I could return it.

Killed all my shrimp
It sucked up all my shrimp into the filter and murdered them. All 5 lives or as Petco knows is as, all $40s worth

Would not recommend
It worked great the first day, but on the second day it started making a rattling noise. This is by my bed so it’s super annoying

Tiny and perfect
The media could not be loaded. …for my nano tank. The easy setup and adjustable flow along with the little price tag makes this a great buy. I let it run 24 hours before posting this review.

Small and Useful
The small form factor of this filter is the best part. Goes very well with betta tanks and small planted tanks.

Makes lots of noise
The filter looks good, the size is apt for nano tanks. But within a week, the impeller started making noise and it kept on increasing. Had to turn it off because the noise is very loud and it's disturbing. Not a good buy.

It says that it will restart but doesn’t! Waste of money!
