This Japanese Tea Pot is absolutely gorgeous with talented artistry and made of good solid iron. as such, it’s fairly heavy, comparatively so, it maintains temperature well. It serves well with tea or as eye candy on ur display shelf/cabinet, it absolutely beautiful!

Lovely design and quite sturdy, but even after thorough cleaning and rinsing it leaks a blackish dye into the water when brewing. Likely toxic.Never had this problem with any of my other cast iron teapots.

This is a piece made for the kitchen or for just putting on shelf to admire. It is quite literally a useful art piece. It is definitely setup for gifting and/or to show off to company.It comes in its own wooden box with fabric scroll designs on the outer box. The inner box was well padded to protect it from bouncing around during transport. Plus it was also wrapped in a thick fabric bag for even more protection. And rightly so, at over three and a half pounds, it is a solid teapot.The teapot is all cast iron with a dragon on one side and a phoenix on the other. Typically representing "harmony" or "husband and wife" ( the yin to the yang ). It is washed with a light golden-brown paint to bring out the details. The lid and handle are brass with carved adornments.I got this teapot not only for it's aesthetics but also because it's cast iron which means it will survive decades of usage but also works on our magnetic induction cooktops. There were no issues getting it work on our induction cooktops and the cast iron holds the water heat in for a long time. Once the water was drained out, the leftover heat dried up what little bit of water that was left inside the pot. So not much chance for rusting plus it has been treated to prevent rusting from what I read.Just can go wrong with this teapot as a gift or for your own collection. 5 stars.

The designs are highlighted with the application of a coloring applied and then rubbed off the surfaces to highlight the designs even further.The tea kettle is beautifully presented in an artfully designed cardboard box that is covered in a linen type fabric with either a hand painted or printed design featuring mountains and Japanese characters including one that translates to read "zen" and others that translate to read "tea" and "old iron kettle".There is a drawstring fabric bag that holds the tea kettle inside of the box. The box also has a cushioning inner foam lining.There are two satin rope handles attached to the box that look nice when knotted together at the top.This tea kettle is stunning, and the presentation is elegant in its simplicity.This tea kettle would make a wonderful gift for yourself, or for any tea lover!

I ordered this for my sister as a birthday gift. The teapot comes in a very well designed and made storage box. The storage box is wrapped in cloth and ribbons and really looks amazing. No wrapping paper was needed. The teapot itself is very well made. It is cast iron and the detail in the design is stunning. As far as the functionality goes this teapot heats up quickly and holds enough hot water for an entire tea party. This is the most beautiful teapot I have ever seen and my sister absolutely loved it. Highly recommended.
