amazing transformation
Amazing story, amazing universe. Worth every cent. Mr. Doove’s stories are worth their price in gold for the sociopolitical aspects.

Great Book for Fellow Furries
The book had a great story to it and the lovable characters are easily compatible to the readers. There was a lot of passion put into the making of this book, and it shows. This became one of my favorite books I've ever read and I would recommend it for everyone, but furries in particular. This would be a great addition to any furry's book collection and I know I would return to this book constantly in the future for another trip into the life of a chakat. The only downsides are that the transformation sequence was not added to the story and also the book's length. With less than 200 pages, this book lacks what could can have made it a great novel. However, if your looking for a good read without the time to read a lengthy novel, than this is the book for you.

A story about transformation and finding your place in the world.
Ever wonder what it would be like to transform into a new form or get a new body. You will in this story about a man who transform into a felituar. Not only does he have to learn how to get around in a body similar to a centuar but feline in appearance. He has to deal with being a hermaphrodite as well. What will be decide in the end? Will he chose to keep the body he was given or will be chose to be human again?

Amazing and wanting more
I would lo e to see more of Dale and the group wishing to see him take up having some cubs as well. I love that this story is an inspired one, having tried to write myself never had the time or the encouragement to continue doing so. So please keep up the good work

And a happy ending after all
This is typical Bernard Doove; all about chacats, with some humor thrown in, and an interesting story; a human becomes a chacat, and the difficulties he faces assimilating himself into his new body. And a happy ending after all. What did I like the least? Can't think of anything. What I enjoyed the most; Dale's accumulative realization of all the new aspects of his new form, and how to deal with it all. Definitely a transformation story.

Great info on chakats
This was a wonderful little book about a guy that, through an incredible accident gets transformed into a chakat. This is a great first story with chakats if you haven't read any others. If not, the link on the beginning of the book(that you can get with the sample) is a marvelous resource about chakats.

Good read, moderate misgivings
I like this book, though it is fairly short. For the most part, it is a good read if you're already into the "chakat" universe and Doove's other works. There is one scene in particular that I have severe misgivings about, however. In the bulk of Doove's works, he presents sexuality and intimacy very healthily and accurately. Individuals ask permission, show concern if their partner isn't enjoying themselves. Rape, or even being overly forceful is portrayed as a despicable act, which is as it should be. In this novel, it is largely the same, except for one scene.(Here there be spoilers, etc)In the scene where Dale goes into heat, he is very adamant that he does NOT want any physical relations with anyone. Even taking into account the fact that individuals in this universe seem to have much more liberal views on sexuality, I found that Lupu's 'help' was a little too rape-y. Dale stated that he did not want sex, she essentially forced herself on him anyway. That he enjoyed it later is a moot point. No means no, and by ignoring that fact, the author made the scene distinctly uncomfortable for me. I was expecting better from you, Doove!(END SPOILERS)In all, this is a pleasant read, with few surprises if you're familiar with the author's style and other works. Probably not the best book for someone unfamiliar with the universe, despite the 'un-informed hero' theme. Definitely not a book for younger readers, due to the sexual content.
