A great little light to bring ample light to a small area, also with it being upright it means it disperses the light better.A compact size too, although quite weighty.

I wanted a small, attractive uplighter at a reasonable price for the corner of the main room.This completely fits the bill- gives out a good amount of light, looks very good and is small and discreet. I have bought a second one since, very good value in comparison with some of the others online- very happy with this.

Bought a couple of these before (years ago) and quite like them. Not much has changed since... still a nice simple design with a pleasing throw of light, great either hidden behind furniture or on show. it comes supplied with a GU10 50w halogen bulb but I would immediately discard that and replace it with a LED equivalent. The halogen gets far too hot (consequently, you're replacing them frequently) and is a burn risk if you have children or pets that generally love to come into contact with things as even the metal body of the lamp gets too hot to touch after a short time on. LED's run much cooler and good quality ones give out the same lux levels as a comparable halogen.On the topic of replacement LED's... please note anyone wanting to use these with a Philips Hue GU10 fitting... they're too long to fit in here so unless you're prepared to do a 'not recommended' modification (as I have) or are happy to have the bulb hanging out the top, look elsewhere.Otherwise, recommended.

This light is great for placing on the floor under a house plant, it casts interesting light and shadows up the wall and ceiling. I added a colour change bulb with remote control, looks great in my new kitchen. The first thing I noticed was how heavy it is, considering its a small item, it's strong and robust.

Lights ok but definitely not worth the asking price as its only a bulb holder. I also bought the the Gu10 multi coloured bulb as recommended but it doesn't fit so don't wast your money.

I really should read the descriptions properly. Thought this would be a bigger unit but, to their credit there are plenty of pictures and details to show the exact size, I just didn't pay any attention. It's very basic in design and construction but it looks well built. It's nothing more than a GU10 light fitting in a metal case. In hindsight I would say go for something cheaper, especially if like me, you will keep it out of sight - mine is behind an arm chair to light up a dark area of the room.

Perfect for my needs, very solid and strong. We have actually replaced the bulbs with energy efficient bulbs and they are beautiful and small enough to put behind plant pots or tv's, just what we needed.

Like many other reviewers, I decided to replace the supplied halogen bulb for a low energy LED bulb. However, could I get the halogen bulb out of the unit? No! I tried for ages, so did my wife and it just would not budge. I am a very competent DIY person so not normally stuck on something like this but I just had to give up after trying every method I could think of. I've sent the unit back for a refund. Imagine if I'd stayed with the halogen bulb - which gets the lamp unit very hot, as noted by others - and then been stuck with a useless lamp when the bulb needed replacing in the future.By the way, Amazon delivery very quick and refund organised easily.
