Q: Is this the new v2 or the original?

This is not the V2. It is apparently not available in the U. S. But I did find the V2 from a company in Germany, known as Thomman. The price was similar to the V1, plus UPS sipping was about $27, and arrived within a week.

Q: Golden Plexi vs Golden Plexi 2?

The Plexi 2 is more of an adjustment on the original performance as noted here: The Golden Plexi has been a flagship unit and player favorite in the TC lineup for it's power and versatility. Tone City also listened to all the comments and suggestion from it's customer base and the version 2 was born from those suggestions. Some of the excess Feedback type of noise has been tamed down on this one as well as a more sweeping range on the gain knob for more control and sensitivity in the gain spectrum.
