PRUNUS J-136 Portable AM FM Radio with Best Reception, Loud Speaker

Perfect little radio for my office. I've had it for a few weeks now and no issues. I do use the plug in cord but I plan to try the battery option when I go on vacation or when the power goes out. It is small but the sound is great

Great little radio. Good reception on AM and FM, and sounds good for its size. I use it everyday. I decided to use the barrel jack power port on the side with a 4.5v adapter to eliminate the inside power transformers radio noise while listening to AM. Little did I know that the barrel jack would try to charge the batteries inside the unit. I picked the radio up and noticed it was warm. I unplugged it and opened the battery door. I put a piece of paper towel in the back to keep the battery door from buzzing while playing music, and a good thing I did. The batteries were warm and spraying an oily substance all over the battery compartment. I heard a hissing noise coming out of them, so I rushed outside and flung them into the snow. I didn't read anywhere in the instructions that the little port on the side was for charging. Great little radio, but just be aware to remove the batteries inside of it if using a external power adapter in the 4.5v port.

It works fine. It's easy to operate. It's compact. And it looks good. The lack of a port for my earbuds is the only thing I don't like about it. It is still worth what I paid for it.

comes in clear; decent little radio

Excellent reception, controls, and sound. A simple good am/fm radio is hard to find anymore. This is one.

Better built than expected, it’s small but powerful speakers feels like good quality very sturdy base good value price.

Pleased with product

This is the most practical little radio to have in an emergency. It runs on power and batteries which is super important in an emergency. Living on the Canadian Prairies we so often don’t have Wi-fi reception so being to ‘hear’ the outside world is a blessing. The same applies in case of a tornado warning and you’re stuck in a basement. It’s super easy to use, easy to find a channel and the sound is ok for what it is. I’ve already had to use it days after receiving it.

I really like my new Prunus portable radio because it has great reception and I have the option of using batteries or plugging it in. I especially like that it is large enough to be stable unlike my previous portable that tipped over. The Prunus has two simple dials and specific AM and FM frequencies are easy to pick up. The affordable price would be hard to beat for a product of this quality. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this particular item as it's a good buy.

good little radio, brought in all FM stations within 50 miles - (stations only transmit with 1000 watts) and the only AM station. The dial moves to the right when the knob moves counter-clockwise, this is backwards and gets some getting used to. sound is good for a small speaker, aux and headphone good features. Antenna swivel on metal which is good.

Nice little radio. Great for when the power goes out!
