Very high quality and high value
We had a popular brand doorbell camera that broke and decided to replace it with an Arlo. At purchase, I was a little skeptical of the Arlo because it is half the price of other name brands. Since install, I could not be more pleased with the product. Installation is easy and the app provides step by step installation instructions. The app interface for using the device is simple and superior to the other brand we had. Image quality and function of the device are both excellent. In short, don't buy any other brand because you would be wasting your money. Buy an Arlo.

Great Upgrade for Home Security
I recently installed the Arlo Video Doorbell 2K (2nd Gen) and I’m extremely satisfied with its performance. Setup was quick and easy - I used the wireless option and didn’t have to deal with complicated wiring or tools. The video quality at 2K is sharp and clear, and I love that I can see visitors from head to toe without any blind spots. The night vision is impressive - even in low-light conditions I get crisp video footage. The two-way audio works smoothly with minimal delay, so talking to delivery people or guests through the app is simple and reliable. I also appreciate the person and vehicle detection, which really cuts down on unnecessary alerts and gives me more accurate notifications. The package detection feature has saved me a few times already, and the included 1-Month Secure Plan gives me peace of mind with cloud storage for recorded events. Overall, this doorbell adds a great sense of security to my home, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality video doorbell.

Super
Here is a review in English for the Arlo Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) based on expert opinions. Overview The Arlo Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) is a solid all-around performer, offering a well-priced solution for home security. It provides installation flexibility, working as either a battery-powered or wired device. Key features include sharp 2K video resolution, a wide 180-degree field of view (F.O.V.), clear two-way audio, and robust third-party compatibility (e.g., Alexa, Google Assistant). Key Features and Performance Video Quality: The camera delivers sharp HD or 2K video quality during the day with excellent detail and rich colors. The unique 1:1 aspect ratio provides a head-to-toe view of visitors and packages on your doorstep. Black-and-white night vision is sharp out to around 25 feet. Audio Quality: The microphone and speaker combination offers clear communications, featuring noise reduction and echo cancellation. Users can speak to visitors remotely via the app. Installation & Design: The device has a modern, sleek design that fits well in small areas. Installation is straightforward, with options for wire-free setup. Smart Features: Features include motion detection, people and package detection (with subscription), configurable activity zones, and a built-in siren. Motion alerts arrive instantly in many cases. Drawbacks The main drawback for the Arlo Video Doorbell is the requirement for a paid subscription (Arlo Secure plan) to unlock key features. Without a subscription, you can only view the live camera feed and will be unable to view or save recorded video history. Some users have also noted minor lag times when receiving the "call" notification when the doorbell is pressed. Overall, if you are looking for a reliable, feature-rich video doorbell and are comfortable with the subscription model, the Arlo 2nd Gen is a strong choice.

Awesome doorbell but not Integrations Alexa could Have been better.
The **Arlo Video Doorbell 2K** stands out as a reliable, high-quality video doorbell with an impressive array of features that enhance home security. Its sleek design and advanced technology make it a strong contender in the smart doorbell market. #### Pros: 1. **High-Resolution Video (2K with HDR)**: The 2K resolution provides sharp and detailed footage, even in low-light conditions. HDR (High Dynamic Range) ensures better contrast, improving visibility in areas with poor lighting or shadows. 2. **Wide Field of View (180 degrees)**: The doorbell’s wide field of view captures more of your doorstep, from top to bottom, which is particularly useful for viewing packages left at the door. 3. **Smart Notifications**: Arlo’s advanced motion detection technology differentiates between people, animals, vehicles, and packages, allowing for more targeted alerts and reducing unnecessary notifications. 4. **Two-Way Audio**: The built-in speaker and microphone allow for clear two-way communication, which is useful for interacting with visitors or delivery personnel when you’re away from home. 5. **Direct-to-Wi-Fi Connectivity**: No need for a separate hub. It connects directly to your Wi-Fi, making installation straightforward. 6. **Video Call Feature**: Instead of receiving just a notification, the doorbell can call your phone when someone rings, simulating a traditional doorbell while still allowing remote viewing and interaction. 7. **Integration with Smart Home Ecosystems**: Works well with Alexa and Google Assistant, making it a seamless addition to smart home setups. 8. **Package Detection**: This feature not only alerts you when a package arrives but can also distinguish packages from other objects or people at your door. #### Cons: 1. **Subscription Required for Full Features**: While you can view live video and receive motion alerts without a subscription, many of the advanced features, such as cloud storage and smarter motion detection, require a paid Arlo Smart subscription. 2. **Short Battery Life (if using wireless option)**: If you opt for the wireless installation, you may find the battery life to be shorter than expected, especially with frequent motion detection. 3. **No Local Storage Without Base Station**: Unlike some competitors, local storage is only available if you have an Arlo SmartHub or base station, which adds to the overall cost. 4. **Installation Can Be Tricky**: While the installation process is fairly straightforward for tech-savvy users, those less familiar with smart home technology might struggle, particularly with wiring it to an existing doorbell. 5. **High Price Point**: It’s more expensive than many other video doorbells on the market, particularly once the cost of a subscription is factored in. 6. **Integration with Echo Show**: This one I have seen personally. While it nicely sends the notifications and also announces them, it doesn’t load the doorbell camera view on its own. I also tried this with Alexa automation. It doesn’t work. While with other brands like Ring this works by default. Since my entire camera setup is Arlo I decided to stick with it. #### Verdict: The Arlo Video Doorbell 2K is a premium device that delivers excellent video quality and a range of smart features to enhance your home’s security. However, the need for a subscription to access its full functionality and the higher price may deter budget-conscious consumers. If you value high-quality video and smart notifications and don’t mind paying for extra features, the Arlo doorbell is an excellent investment. I gave it 4 out of 5 for the challenges that I faced with my Echo Show outlined above.

Good doorbell camera but does not do color night time video.
We’ve had this Arlo doorbell camera for several months now. It has worked well so far. It calls your phone when someone rings the doorbell which is a bit odd to me but that’s just how it works. I does not do color night time video, just black and white which was a bit surprising since their security cameras do have color at night. However, the black and white image is decent. When I first installed it I thought it was defective because it wasn’t charging via my existing doorbell wires but after some research I discovered it only charges after the battery drops below a certain power level, then the charging kicks in. All in all it’s a good doorbell camera and it allows me to see all of my cameras and my doorbell on one app.
