Very good, does a good job and is well made.
This thing is great. I gave 4 stars because it is hard to feel "love" for something that costs this much and doesn't even get used all that much, but I do have to give it credit for doing its job really well. My nose was bunged up for a few months, figured it was dust in my room (I had building work a year or so ago and it never felt all that clean since, even after plenty of vacuuming and dusting). I also get hay fever so that doesn't help. Anyway I took a chance on buying this, and left it running overnight for a few nights on low speed. My nose cleared up and feels great now. I went a month or two without using it and then one night I felt bunged up again as I was trying to sleep, so I turned this on again and had another good night, and have been another month or so with a clear head.I wondered if this was really worth the money seeing as I spent about £220 for something I've only used for about 5 nights in the past several months... I also wondered if my nose cleared up by itself and if it was just a coincidence, but it's just that both times my nose cleared up quickly after using this machine so I have to assume it is doing the job.I feel less nuts about spending that much money when I think about the quality of thing too. It looks nice, very tidy, and on the low setting it is quite quiet. It is a similar volume to my PC, and I spent a lot of time and effort making sure my PC was as quiet as possible with almost-silent-120mm fans. I think this air purifier works so well because it probably has one huge fan inside, so it doesn't have to spin at very high speeds to push out a lot of air. The air flow is really good too, if you put your face over the exit, it feels like a gentle breeze on the low setting. On high speed it pushes out so much air, it feels like putting your head out of the car window at 30-40mph. The high speed is louder and yet it still isn't too loud. It might keep up a light sleeper but the sound is so consistent and it doesn't have any ticks or rattles or high pitch noises or anything so I could easily sleep through it. But for me the low speed left on overnight is ideal and seems to do the job.Only slight downside is that it started flashing a warning light that means I need to replace the filter already. I think I've used it about a week in total, but that was leaving it on all night and some full days too. I also am still using it and just ignoring the warning light, and it still seems to work fine. There are several layers in the filter, one to catch big particles like dust, and then another layer to catch smaller particles like pollen, etc. So I assume the warning just means that maybe one layer is a bit dirty but it still seems to make a difference when I use it and it hasn't changed the volume at all. I'll probably just carry on using it any time I feel like I need it and wont buy a filter until I sense that it isn't working well anymore. That said the filters aren't too expensive and you can get them on Amazon so it's not a problem if you do want to replace them regularly.

Does what it says
I purchased this together with the AC100 which has one stage less filtration (no UV) but otherwise is physically the same and uses the same HEPA filter. This review applies to both in terms of common basic functions. First of all, it's a smart looking unit from the front that should blend with any contemporary interior, though the back of the case looks a bit cheaper due to less attention to the detailing. Overall the plastic feels a bit like a storage tub from the local shop-that-sells-everything. It has integrated carry handles and rubber feet, a nice touch. I have the AC100 in my kitchen and the AC150 in my bedroom which is larger. I like the coloured LED lights of the AC150 and I use it every evening before going to bed, the air feels clean and fresh. The noise level is acceptable but that is totally subjective. For the price and the fact it's made in China like most consumer electronics now, I would have expected the fan rotor to be better balanced for the best possible NVH characteristics - hence four stars. The touch controls are easy to use and the timer is very handy, pity they don't have a more comprehensive timer function that can activate the machine at set times during the day, but I guess that would overcomplicate the product. I hope these will give good long service, as I intend to buy more for other rooms.

Looks like a good buy
This item arrived today - I bought it to replace a Filtrete 02, which had begun to have a fault with the control switch. In addition, though it doubtless did a reasonable job, it did not have an ionoser, and had a fair number of critics on the web.The DeLonghi arrived in its box, but no extra packaging - presumably so that Yodel could identify it as fragile, and wouldn't throw it round the depot. Packaging within was ok, with copious manuals - two of which are, interestingly, identical. Slight packing error, maybe? It's not tall, but its width is more than you would expect from its height - making it look slightly squarish in appearance in your room. But it's got reasonable looks, which are considerably increased by the splash of colour the air quality monitoring provides (one of three colours). It decided my air was dirty, which was slightly alarming, since everything else had always said it was clean. But it cleaned it within 10 minutes, and it remains a steadfast blue (good quality) since then. It has a timer, which I use to operate it in one hour slots every few hours - no point leaving it on all the time if it says the air is already good quality - there is nothing for it to do in that case except waste electricity. All in all, a good buy, and very quiet on auto - I had to walk to within a foot of it to be sure it was even switched on.I think I've made a good purchase for the price, especially since it is full RRP (£250!) from a catalogue shop on the high street. If you have the cash spare, go ahead and buy.

Quiet and Effective but quality is a bit lacking
We have five dogs and they produce a lot of dust and 'doggy smells' between them. When we go to work we leave this switched on and, when we get home, the air is free of odours. When we're at home, it's so quiet that we soon forget it's even switched on.UPDATE: the thin black film that covers the controls is flaking
