Walk Between Worlds' is Simple Minds’ 20th studio album, and their first album of new material since 2014’s Big Music. The album is produced by Simple Minds with Andy Wright and Gavin Goldberg, both of whom worked on Big Music. 'Walk Between Worlds' is an album of two halves with tracks such as 'Summer' and 'The Signal And The Noise' revisiting the glassy guitars and new wave dance grooves of the post-punk era, and the title track and 'Barrowland Star' both featuring dramatic orchestrations recorded at Abbey Road.

A walk between now and then
Having not bought a Simple Minds album since the mid 1980's,i wasn't sure what to expect from this 2018 release, but I'd heard some favourable comments. It's not bad at all.More drum machine, than stadium rock drumming, which was a relief, to me anyway.Songs are all of a good standard.Jim's vocals are a bit late era Bowie at times. There's even a hint of Soft Cell in one of the melodies.Charlie Burchill's guitar is really good throughout, and the orchestra on the title track is superb. This is a good band, still making good records. If you liked this band in the early days and lost touch like I did, give this a go.

They still have what it takes to make great music
A strong later album. Production is rather reverb heavy and goes for a wall of sound which can be a little murky but, that said, there are some really strong songs and great tunes here. It’s recognisably Simple Minds and that’s always a good thing.

It's Magic
"Now it's all coming together", sings Jim Kerr , on the opening track Magic , and it most certainly is all coming together , because on this latest offering , Simple minds sound very fresh and revitalised , with no shortage of new ideas whatsoever. It's obviously Simple minds , but there's a whole new sound here that quite frankly is awesome . You've never heard strings and synths sound like like this before , and Cherisse Osei is outstanding . So many good tracks , this is an album that other bands in this genre , will find hard to emulate , and may I say it's been perfectly mixed and recorded .

Brilliant
Wow what a classic guys so well done. Takes me back to both lates 1970s and the early days with the track, signal and the noise some tracks and then late 1980s with the track, Discovery. SM have basically recreated a sound that spans their careers in one album It totally grows on you. Fantastic album providing SM fans a real jouney through the decades in in a new and exciting LP. Enjoy.
