Fabulous cycling computer. You don't need the touch screen.
Fabulous cycling computer. It's the version without the touch screen - I really wanted the touch screen one but couldn't justify the additional cost, but I'm so glad I went with this one. Controlling it via the buttons is fine, all the setup (which would be fiddly without a touch screen) can easily and quickly be done via the Garmin Connect iPhone app. For me, it's better NOT to have the touch screen when on the bike and just use the buttons. I find the button control intuitive and easy. It does take some time to figure out how to use it, but there are lots of videos online showing you how to do that. As you get in to it, you quickly discover it's a great little device, brilliant. Very pleased.

Great product
Takes a little getting used too. Make sure it’s secured tightly because you need to press the side controls and it moves otherwise. Lots of information and links to Strava. I don’t go anywhere without it and i also have the varia rear light which links to it easily

Good value, easy set up, clear readout and good battery life.
My old 520 gave up the ghost, it was fine and did everything I wanted it to, and more. A bit of research pointed towards the 540. I compared and contrasted plenty but, for once, listened to my head. I’m a recreational cyclist, I gave up racing long ago. I ride roads that I know but never have a problem navigating if I’m on strange territory. I don’t need any fancy feedback, just time and a HRM. I’m and old school cyclist, I can ride by feel. The 540 is excellent value, easy to set up - for me. I don’t use or have a need for any of its fancier features. It is clear to read, you can set the pages up to suit you nd the battery lasts well.

Awesome features, let down by usability
Overall a great bike computer if you're on a budget and highly recommended. One star off for usability as buttons are bit tricky to operate especially when riding and more often than not you might press the wrong one. I got around this to an extent by programming operations to d-fly channels operated from my Di2 shifters and hood buttons. The screen is adequate, unit size is just right, it's very light, battery consumption great and the features like ClimbPro are game changers. I've been using mine for audux rides where navigation is a key aspect and the turn-by-turn guides are pretty much perfect.

Perfect size and function
Brilliant bit of kit. Expands your rides and makes you want to get out more and explore. Perfect size too. 10/10

A great tool if not a tad clunky
It takes a while to get used to the function of the buttons, I still hit the wrong one now after 3 months of use. It does exactly what it says on the tin, but I find the graphics for the climbs a tad useless as I ride on the roads I already know, but al in all great VFM , and in my opinion Garmin are by far the better bike computer

Extremely intuitive—used it on a long ride with no idea of the route or how it worked, and had no issues.

Great display
Very nice product. All the features you’ll need. Remember this needs to Bluetooth to a phone for maps etc.
