Too much licorice
Such a shame this contains licorice root as it's WAY too overpowering. I realise this is down to my personal taste preferences but I was really disappointed with the product. It should be made more apparent in the product description/name as the licorice is definitely a stronger flavour than the turmeric!

Absolutely awful taste!!
Wow- where do I start?Ok- at the beginning!!Packaging looks ok but others commented on how cheap it looked, and let’s be honest it’s not cheap. Although confession here- it was bought for me to try!!It seems to mix well, and I found myself saying ‘I don’t know what others were having trouble with!’ But when I went to drink it , I found out exactly what others were talking about. Unseen lumps started to appear, like powder bubbles. These were NOT good!!!Taste- I’m sorry but this was absolutely awful!! I actually had Trouble swallowing it with out bringing it back up again!!! I’ve drank Matcha Tea quite a few times before but this was nothing like it!! The rest went into the bin after I let my lovely friend try a sachet first (well she did buy it for me!!). She’s a lover of all tea and matcha holds a special place in her heart but she couldn’t stomach it either and it went down the sink!!My advice- don’t buy and try a good traditional matcha tea to try!!

Lacklustre latte
Generally I love Teapigs’ products, enjoy the earthy flavour of matcha tea (a bit of an acquired taste) and turmeric so thought I would give these a try. I’ve not tried these types of sachets before but I do like to make up my own milky turmeric drink when I’m feeling a bit under the weather so am familiar with the non-coffee latte concept.I am a bit disappointed. Whilst turmeric and matcha might sound good on paper I am not sure they really translate into a tasty latte. Perhaps I’m using the wrong milk products (I drink a lot of organic soya milk and have also tried it with full-fat cow’s milk too) but I found that the flavour of the turmeric and matcha is quite subtle. Note that the packet does say that it can be used with any milk. The instructions are precise, whisk into a small amount of hot milk, and then add frothy milk on top. I don’t have the facilities to make frothy milk so just added hot milk on top. It is tricky to get the powder to completely dissolve (I only have a mini hand whisk) which may explain why I don’t get much of a flavour hit. It is, to be honest, quite a lot of faff for a bit of a lacklustre latte.I am presuming the pricing reflects the premium organic (Soil Association certified) ingredients which I would be happy to pay for if the flavour was worth it. In this case, I don’t think it is.

Good quality, interesting twist, but ultimately still not my cup of tea
I’m reviewing the Matcha Turmeric Latte version of this, not any other flavour of the same product.Regular green tea is my default daily drink but I’m struggling to get along with concentrated matcha varieties, and unfortunately this is no exception. So my apologies if some of my dissatisfaction is about matcha more generally, rather than this particular brand- but this is one of the better matchas I’ve tried, hence giving it 4 stars when subjectively and personally I might be more inclined towards the 2 stars button. As I’d expect from Teapigs, this is definitely a quality tea (with a price tag to match). Like the other matchas I’ve tried, this one has a serious green tea kick- good for the first cuppa of the day. Without milk it’s an intense drink. The bitterness of the matcha is smoothed off a little by the sweetening effect of the liquorice, and the little twist of turmeric takes it further into the land of spices, again mitigating the bitterness a little- but not a lot.Adding milk doesn’t take the edge off as much as I’d like it to. The spiciness comes to the fore a bit more but you have to water it down (or rather milk it down) really quite a lot before it approaches a strength that my tastebuds don’t want to object to.Not one for those with faint-hearted tastebuds, this is the most drinkable matcha I’ve tasted, but sadly I can’t go as far as saying I enjoyed it.

Makes a very tasty drink indeed...although I prefer with just hot water rather than milk!
The Teapigs Matcha Latte Sachets are a box of 10 single-serving sachets for making super-healthy matcha lattes with.If you’ve not come across these Teapigs drinks before then in a nutshell, it’s described as “super power green tea”. That’s really what it is – only damn tasty to boot. This particular one contains 100% pure organic matcha (a fine powder green tea), organic tumeric and organic liquorice. That’s it. No added flavourings or preservatives. For this drink you’re supposed to add the sachet to hot milk for a ‘matcha latte’. To be honest, I’m not really one for particularly milky drinks. First off I tried the sachets with vigorously whisked milk as detailed on the box. It was quite nice to be honest, but still not really my preference. I then tried it with just hot water – and I have to say, I loved it.Okay, so not really how you’re supposed to be drinking it, but who the hell cares? The liquorice makes it sweet and tasty. The turmeric is there adding a bold, almost nutty flavour. It’s just a damn good drink.Really love it. But sorry, the hot frothy milk malarkey just isn’t for me!

Tasted vile, no instructions for use, very expensive.
I usually drink green tea in tea bags with fruit flavours and when I saw this, I thought I would give it a try. This tea is a ground up powder that is meant to be made into a latte. However, there are no instructions for how much milk to use, so it is a bit of guess work really as to how to make it properly, which is pretty poor for a tea company that charges so much for its brand! Instructions for the perfect cup would be appreciated!Anyway, I tried and average sized mug with hot milk and the powder well mixed in and it is very strong tasting indeed. I don't know what it is like on it's own with water, but the overall taste was not to my taste buds at all. I like liqourice, but I did not like it alongside the tumeric and the green matcha tea, it was very spicy and made me feel quite nauseous.I would not recommend it to anyone, unless you are used to strong tastes and have drunk matcha tea before.
