Update: I still like the quality of the cameras but they can be really frustrating in some regards. Like the fact that I’ve just changed internet providers for the second time since I’ve owned them. There is no way to update them to a new wireless system. All you can do is remove them from the app and reinstall them. Which wouldn’t be a huge deal if the removal process would allow them to be reinstalled. But it’s not that simple. You have to completely reset them. Again, not a huge thing if the reset button were not underneath the little door where the memory card goes. I’ve had three neck surgeries & have a bunch of hardware in my neck. So I either have to climb a ladder and take down the entire camera in order to reset it. Or, remove the tiny little screws from the door while standing on a ladder outside and reset the camera, then put the little door back on. It’s ridiculously difficult to do when they could just allow a reset from the app. And I have no idea if, once all this is completed, if I will be able to access the video that is already stored on the memory card from the previous wireless account. Which stinks because I think the installer of the new wireless broke a deck box in my back yard while installing the wiring at the back of my home. The only way to know for sure is to view the videos stored on the card. So if they broke it, I may not have any proof to get reimbursed for it. UGH!!!! I’ve had these cameras for a long time now and realized even though I’m very impressed with them, I never wrote a review. I think for the money, they are the best cameras you could buy. They are simple to set up and install. They will accept micro sd cards for storing video so you do not require a service or a monthly fee. I chose these because they will track movement. So I can see my dogs or my child wherever they go in my back yard. I set up two: one on one side of the back door and one on the other. The only stipulation is they require an outlet to plug them in. But I have a pool in back so I have outlets in several places for plugging in the pool robot and entertainment devices. I can view both cameras via an app on my phone or my Alexa Show device. The image quality is good and with both I can see my entire back yard. I highly recommend these cameras to anyone looking for some simple home security or just the security of being able to keep an eye on your pets or children in your yard.

This camera exceeded my expectations. The video quality is sharp, and the 360° view with motion tracking works really well. Setup was quick and straightforward, and the app is easy to use. It gives a great sense of security knowing everything is covered. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a reliable home security camera.

Great little camera! I had to call customer service today because I recently moved and was having trouble reconnecting...my fault, but they figured it out quickly and were super nice about it. Never had any trouble out of the camera...does all kinds of remote actions, records (need a subscription though) and easy to mount and use. Would definitely recommend it for indoor or outdoor use. I use two of the same, one inside and one out. *only drawback is sometimes if you're trying to have it just track a person it will alert when it's a dog and track it instead. Also heavy rain sets off the alerts as well.

It is a decent cameraggyr, and has very good night vision, however, it's just lack of zooming function. Wi-Fi connection is also good.

I replaced some older cameras with these, and I’ve been very happy. The image quality is excellent. There is enough light in my front yard from the street light and my house lights, that it doesn’t use the night vision and gives clear color images. The night vision is also very good (see photos). The motion/person detection and ability to exclude zones also works well. To be clear, the motion detection is video-based, not a true motion sensor. So if it’s windy and branches are blowing around, it will trip the detection. The app is very easy to use, and it was easy to connect and setup each camera. I have a 64Gb SD card in each camera. If you are not going to use their cloud storage, I would recommend getting a higher capacity card (I already had these in the old cameras). 64Gb will save about 5 days of continuous video.

I used this camera (for driveway) and three Kasa indoor cameras to replace my 8-year-old Arlo Pro 2 camera system. The Tapo iPhone app (it supports Tapo and Kasa devices) is AI-smart and easy to use. I like my new security system. It cost me around $110 while they were on sale.

I have several brands of security cameras running around my house. This one is my favorite because the pictures are good, sound is good, and it is responsive to the controls when moving it around. One area it may lack however is that it has went a little crazy on us over the winter. The motion alarm (that I have shut off - because why?) will randomly go off for HOURS until I use the app, shut the motion alarm back off and it is fine again until the next update. Then it is crazy motion alarm time again. I don't know why it does this, but it does. I did not opt in for the cloud service they offer, I figure I am opening enough of my life to the company without also storing my recordings on their servers. I use a 256GB SD card, and it has worked perfectly. If it goes on sale again, I will buy one for the other corner of my house (Mine is tucked under the eave behind the gutter so it is always dry, shaded, clean, and WAY too high to fuss with). (Edit): Purchased a second one for the corner of my garage, and I have found that the WiFi is not very receptive at distance. My other outdoor network things work well out there, but this camera is not happy.

I bought 3 of these a couple years ago to help monitor our family cabin since we live pretty far away. Overall, they work pretty well for the price, and I've been satisfied. Here's my take after 2 years of use: Pros: - live pan & tilt - 2-way audio - person detection works pretty well - detection zones - local storage (subscription not required to store & playback recordings) - wireless - indoor & outdoor (I've had mine outdoor for 2 years in the midwest and they still work great despite the hot summers & cold winters) Cons: - despite having fiber internet at the property, the 2-way audio is pretty patchy, but good enough, the video works well - I bought and setup 3 of these cameras, but only 2 of them will ever reliably stay connected to my wifi router. I don't have many devices and the building is relatively small so I'm not sure why only two of them will stay connected. All 3 will stay connected for a little while, but very consistently one of them will eventually disconnect and not be able to recover. Only power cycling and re-initializing it with the app can reconnect it, but every time one of the three will always eventually drop after a week or so. This is the biggest drawback and my reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

Third one we have bought for our property. Easy to install and operate. Very clear footage.

I bought this one for my balcony to watch my dogs when I’m out and they are using the balcony. It’s always exposed to the sun and rain, and it still works fine. It’s a 2K camera, but I’m not using it for security, although the video quality looks good to me. I’ve had an overall good experience with Tapo cameras. They are well made, reasonably priced, and, in my opinion, great for monitoring your dogs and home when you’re out. I wish they would add a physical shutter for privacy mode. They have a software-only privacy mode that stops the video feed from streaming, but it’s not physical. All of their products are compatible with the Home Assistant environment, and you can get an RTSP stream for local-only viewing without the feed going through the cloud. Overall, I’m happy with Tapo cameras.

Very good picture qaulity even in low light. IP connected so can be remotely viewed. Built qaulity and performance almost as good much more expensive brands.
