Rothenberger 64004 500g Freeze-Pak Pipe Freezing Spray

Works well if you use pliers to pull the straps tight, and keep the foam covers full length when sealing vertical pipes.

I've used this on previous plumbing jobs and always been great, in allowing me to cut pipes, get a valve on and then work at my leisure. Freeze time is around 30 mins but I recommend making sure you get started asap and aim to finish within 25mins. I made the mistake of changing my mind on how I would approach a pipe routing job after I'd frozen the pipe. Time flies when you're mulling something over and sure enough just got going when "Phoomp" - out shoots a block of ice followed by the central heating water!!That said, great product, but follow the instructions carefully to maximise freeze time.

The sleeves are quite large and I could have done with something a little smaller to fit around a bend in the pipework, but the spray does what it's supposed to do.

What I don't understand is that what looks like exactly the same kit costs £16.99 in Screwfix!!!

The product works fine except that the plastic tube keeps blowing out of the spray can. I eventually had to hold it with my free hand, at the risk of frostbite! If this problem could be remedied I'd give it a five, as when I eventually got it working properly it certainly did the job.
