I work at a preschool and we often do life skill activities. I've skipped over the hammering activities because I have had such a time trying to find hammers that are suitable for little hands. These have worked great! The hammering part has a piece of metal on the edge so it can actually drive something through. The rest of it is super lightweight plastic so it's manageable. The kids can actually carry it around and I'm not worried about them accidentally dropping it or hitting someone with something super heavy!I did stressed test them. One photo shows how it can bend a bit with enough pressure and how I as an adult woman was able to break one with my bare hands. It broke cleanly and didn't leave bunches of little bits of plastic anywhere. At the price point for a 30 pack, the value is amazing (even if these preschoolers somehow did break one once in a while.). Strongly recommend for preschool and early elementary classrooms!

I purchased these to go in tool belts that were given out to children that attended my son's 4th birthday party. They fit perfectly into the children's sized tool belts. We have two rough and tumble boys that put them to the we had was that the metal end has popped out before during play. For the price I still think the quality is very good you just have to be careful if your kids are as tough on toys as mine are.

Okay, I wasn't sure if I would get a cheap plastic toy or what. I knew I wasn't really going to get a real tool. Well, I would say this is somewhere in between toy and tool. They are about 1/2 the size and breadth of a real hammer. You can see in the photos that they are made of plastic and that the head of the hammer is actually metal. It is some kind of base metal that has been chromed. It is the only part of the hammer that has a little weight and can be used to lightly hammer something. Like a small finish nail into drywall or as a jewelry hammer or something. Really can't be used for anything else, it is too light. I will be using it for a carpenter's retirement party, so the black part is really appropriate. I think if you are looking for a novelty hammer that men would like and appreciate and not really use, this is a good choice. Would make good elements for a centerpiece or table party favor, something like that. By the way, the plastic is solid and not hollow, which is nice.
