Used twice and gave to a hobo.
Use as directed and the pouch fills with water. Also, even when pre-coating the pouch with oil, the egg is difficult to remove.

Poaching eggs is now even easier!
I purchased this as I started eating my eggs poached instead of fried as part of an initiative to improve my health. I didn't have too much problem poaching eggs in the traditional manner, but I was always bothered by how much of the whites that I would lose to the water. And the mess! Sometimes it was a chore to clean the pot that I poached the eggs in.I bought the PoachPod because I wanted a way to flawlessly poach my eggs. I was worried about adding yet another tool to my kitchen drawers, but the lifter handle is very slim and it nestles itself into my utensils drawer like it belongs there. I'm really glad I got it as it's extremely helpful in safely placing the pods into and getting them out of boiling water. To cook my eggs, I use a tiny amount of cooking spray (a quick spurt) or a bit of olive oil and I spread it around the inside of the pod. The cooked egg will slide right out without sticking. I wash the pods and the handle in the top rack of the dishwasher and I have not had any issues occur due to washing them. HOWEVER, due to nature of some plastics/this silicone material, it CAN be stained. I had one fall into the sink into a pot that was soaking which had contained spaghetti sauce. The pod had a *very* slight orange tint to it where the water line was. I haven't washed it enough times since to see if it will go away, but I'm assuming it's permanent. No worries, it doesn't affect the performance of the pod, but be aware. The only complaint I have, if you can consider it a complaint, the egg comes out perfectly round and is thicker than one made in the traditional manner. I like to eat my poached egg on top of a slice of lightly buttered toast and I prefer to presentation of the traditional style poached egg. But, this "complaint" has nothing to do with how the PoachPod works and that's why I still gave the product 5 stars. It really is a great product and I'm glad that I got it!

Easier than poaching but not as good.
Pros: Easy to use. Makes a poached-like egg. Easy clean-up. No mess.Cons: Doesn't really poach. You have to add oil to these cups, otherwise the egg sticks. So although cooking in boiling water, the eggs are in contact with oil in the cup. So in the end the flavor isn't quite the same as a "true" poached egg.Overall: Its quicker and easier than poaching, but its just not quite the same. For the price, its certainly not bad.

They do make perfect poached eggs
My daughter wanted these for Christmas after seeing them at a relative's house. They do make perfect poached eggs. You do need to use a little oil or butter in them or the eggs will stick. I also use a small knife to loosen the edges of the egg before taking the egg out of the poacher and they slip right out. I got a bunch so that we can make many at a time. The lifter works really well too and keeps your hands from burning while taking them out.

Tried many times but no luck..
I love eggs and I dont need this device for boiling whole eggs. I need those cups to boil egg whites so I could cut them for salad. I have 3 cups and at first I put 1 egg and filled 2 other cups with egg whites so I have same egg volume in all cups. The cups are not over-filed. As soon as water starts boiling the cups start jumping and floating around the pan, water gets inside, cups lose balance and I have water inside cups but eggs floating all over the pan. Tried to cover with a lid - even worse! Eggs in water while boiling create foam and it all spills, burns... Probably I do something wrong! I lost so many eggs! And those that I could use were filled with water - like sponge.. Unfortunately I had to threw those away.... I am really upset!

I don't mind poaching eggs now!
This is a fantastic little product. I absolutely adore eggs benedict but poaching eggs is such a pain and using vinegar to help always imparts an undesirable taste. This little guy works just as described and makes poaching easy and frustration free. Just spray a little oil before adding the egg into it and it breaks free easily.

Get's the job done, but...
This is a nifty little device to poach your eggs without losing part of the egg and getting your pot all messy. It's pretty easy to use. There is just one problem: you have to spray it with cooking spray. Part of the appeal of a poached egg is that it is healthier than other ways of cooking eggs. Having to use cooking spray reduces that healthy advantage, so i used EVOO spray, which then leaves a flavor on your egg that isn't there with old fashioned poaching. Sigh.
