Lift-the-Flap Computers and Coding: A Fun Guide to Programming and Robots for Kids (Ages 7-10)

received this to give as a birthday gift for a young girl. My family and I would have liked to keep it for ourselves. It is geared for any age; however, I think when they are older say 8 y.o.a. might be better. I know Usborne has another book about computers that is a flap and find book that is better suited for younger 5 y.o.a Still, im in love the Usborne books, my kids too!

I saw this book at work, yes I work at an Amazon fulfilment center and I fell in love with the book and ordered it for myself that same day. The book is informative and correct. I myself love coding and computers and this is an easy way for people and even children to understand or kind of get an idea.

Bought for a difficult to shop for 8 year old boy. He was so enthralled and his mom said it was the best Christmas gift he got this year. Highly recommend for any tech babies.

Best books ever my twins love them all

Excellent book encompassing many tech areas. The book is good for 2yo up to 12.Our 2yo loves it and is able to see how much technology is around us daily. When we look at the hardware section he runs over to our tech and is very excited to see the relation. Usborne has many great interactive books.

Absolutely Fantastic! Does a really good job of presenting the basics in very simplistic terms. Should be required reading for everyone, including adults.

A great book for introducing computers to children and frankly adults. Breaks down complicated things into easy to understand sections. Really helps you understand the magic behind all of our technology.

They are fun and informative for adults who don't use computers much and need a review of the vocabulary connected with them.

My kids love this! Interesting facts and information

This book is a fantastic introduction into the workings of computers and coding. I purchased this as a gift for an adult who's technical computer knowledge was limited. Whilst the intention of my purchase was to give the book as a cheeky gift, the book was well received and enjoyed! The book is well put together and fantastically illustrated. There are many flaps to lift and provides a fun and interesting way to learn about computers and coding. I only wish I had such a book when I was younger. The book is made up of thick card pages with many flaps to lift. Under each flap is more interesting information. For example there's a page illustrating the components of a computer. The reader first lifts the keyboard to expose information about the components inside. It covers what a computer is, the components inside and how a computer works. The book progresses into explaining how computers operate based on instructions and code, with a great introduction into Scratch (a simple, free and fun way to learn basic programming). The book offers a little history lesson on computers too. The book is aimed at children, however many adults I know would benefit from reading it! With the target audience in mind you won't get in depth information from this book, but you will get a fun and interesting introduction at a great price.
