Good product. Does things I didn't even know it could do and I things I didn't know I needed.
This is a great little product for the money. I moved from a ten year old monoprice 8 port switch that cost me a couple hundred dollars back then. Monoprice made and still makes good products, but this old one isn't 4K and it's showing signs of pending failure, and I didn't want to spend that kind of money again. Saw this one and decided to give it a go. I didn't need 8 ports. So I decided on the 5 port model. Right out of the box it's clear this is a pretty decent quality. It's got good weight to it. Most of the switches you get at "Worst Buy" or other big box-ers just feel cheap. This one doesn't feel that way. I have 'never' been a fan of these remotes that are smaller than a business card with those flat buttons. They break in about a month. This one does come with a remote that size, but it's a sturdier build, actuall rubber buttons, very basic, and it works well at fairly decent range. That being said, I guarantee you I'll lose it. So, I taught my learning remote (Sofabaton is my go-to) to learn the functions of the included remote and I put the original in the drawer. It's there if I need it. Setup was very simple, as expected. There was one thing I never liked about my monoprice. It didn't auto-switch when it got signal. I didn't realize this one did that, and I love it! Now, I've got this plugged into a Samsung 70 inch Crystal UHD TV. Samsung is notorious for short-changing you on HDMI inputs. This TV is great, but it's only got two HDMI inputs, hence the need for the switch. In Port 1 I have my roku device. In port 2 I have this switch with my blu ray, game systems, and PC/Laptop on it. I did that because the TV itself will always auto-switch to the most recent signal it picks up. My wife can hit the home button on the Roku remote and no matter what I left it on, it'll kick over to the Roku. This switch, though....it's got some magic to it. If I'm on the Roku input....and the switch is powered off, and I turn on any one of those devices hooked to the switch, this switch will power-on, auto select the source, then kick it over to the TV which with auto-select that input on the TV. I love it. Money well spent.

The perfect HDMI switcher
The product works exactly the way it should. Plug and play. No decrease in picture quality, and no delay or frame rate drop when playing video games either. I have my Google TV Chromecast, my Xbox One, my Switch, and my GameCube all hooked up to it (my GC has a component to HDMI converter). I've had no issues at all with the automatic input switch either, works brilliantly. The remote works just fine as well. However, you'll want to make sure the front of the device isn't blocked by anything though, or it won't be able to receive the signals from the remote.Having the ARC feature makes it perfect for those who have an external speaker/surround sound system. Optical Audio output is definitely recommended, but you could use an Aux to RCA (or Aux to whatever) in the Aux port, but you will only have stereo or mono audio if you go that route. Sound is very clear with no audio delay either. My only complaint is that the Optical and Aux ports are on the front and not the back of the device. But that's just my preference and doesn't warrant reducing the 5 Star rating. All in all a fantastic product for tvs with a limited number of HDMI ports. I highly recommend it!

Solid built HDMI switcher that is very stable
I purchased this switch for a unique use case. I live in a small apartment where a full audio system with speakers / receiver isn't ideal. I have gone with sound bars with rear speakers and a wireless sub which cut down on wire clutter, and also works well in small spaces, or even just limited spaces, or areas not physically laid out in a way to make a wired speaker setup clean. With this said: the sound bar I use only has one HDMI in, and one out to ARC /eARC / video passthrough. Also I have an older 2016 Sony TV with 4 HDMI ports, but only TWO are enhanced ports for HDR@60, and I have more than two devices I want to use that can benefit. So I purchased this switch as the solution. I have connected the switches HDMI output to the Sound bar's HDMI in, and then connected the HDMI out from the sound bar to the ARC port on the TV which is one of the enhanced ports. With this setup, I can pass whatever device I want through with the switch, and have full audio, and video capabilities available for what the particular device supports. There are a couple specifics I do to my setup to add stability to the setup, which are the following:1. I disabled Bravia Sync on the TV as the different CEC versions between my devices can cause stability issues.2. Because of this being a 5 port switch, I only need to use ONE of the TV's inputs now and have access to all my devices so I don't need Bravia Sync in this setup anyway. The switch is solid and well built, it has some good weight to it, and the ports feel firm and solid for good connections. Also wanted to mention that this item was same day delivery when I ordered, and am very pleased with Amazon's service.I also wanted to mention that this switch comes with auto switching features that seem to be hit or miss based on the device used. It also may be due to how I am using the switch as well, because I have an older Rocketfish HDMI 1.4 switch on a 1080p TV and it behaves the same way with auto switching. The disc players will auto switch, but the Roku, and Apple TV do not. However, I'm fine with manual switching so it's not a deal breaker for me.One other thing I'll point out is, this switch comes with an AC adapter that plugs in vs USB power which is nice.Bottom Line, I'm happy with the purchase, the switch is a great deal for what you get, and build quality. I completely recommend it.
