I had seen these knives being used so thought I would try it, not at all like what was demonstrated. The serrated side works great but I can't grate cold butter from the top as was demonstrated. And what is the hole in the top for other than to get butter stuck in it. I was so excited when the knives arrived and so disappointed when I tried for the first time and the second time and then the third time, now have given up and using a normal butter knife that came in my set of utensils. Would not recommend, a lot of false advertising behind this.

It’s easy to use and does what it says.Especially good on hard butter , just out of the fridge .

These knives are unusual, I bought them specifically for buttering bread and toast. I find them strange to use. Yes they have a serrated edge which is useful but the other edge of the blade with the shredding slots is not quite so useful. I find that if you use that side of the blade then you are unable to spread any butter because the shredding slots remove the butter from whatever you are trying to spread it on. Now maybe I’m using it incorrectly, and the shredding slots have a different specific purpose, but I find them a definite hinderance to how I want the knife to work. The knives are definitely well made so if you know how to make best use of those pesky shredding slots this could be the perfect butter knife for you.

Product is solid and a good size but as others have commented - the hole at the tip makes spreading butter a pain. It just collects in the hole where the gap is when you are trying to smear it over the bread - wasting time as you have to keep going over to spread it effectively. Good advertising as I fell for it but wouldn't buy again.

This is a good idea which doesn't quite deliver. For butter straight from the fridge you can get the ribbons of butter if you press VERY hard and at the right angle. But you also get another wedge coming with it. I find using the tip better to get a thicker curl that is easier to spread than normal.I'll persevere with these but not entirely convinced. However, for the price, if you've got the patience to perfect the technique, give it a go.

I really had height hopes for this product as my pet hate is trying to spread proper butter straight from the fridge,It’s not that great as you still end up with hard butter on the bread just not such big pieces, the serrated part of the knife is great for slicing tomatoes though !!!!!!’ :-)
