BabyRicePaint Effects Finishing Kit Wax Metallic Lustre Bronze

When it arrived I thought this won't work. I was very sceptical. A small pot of paint, an even smaller tub of wax, brush and cloth.HOWEVER I cannot praise the products enough. I transformed a boring shiny silver knight fireplace set (2 foot high) and two plastic bookends into three lovely antique bronze items. Very easy to do and very effective. And I still have some left to do another project. Very highly recommended to anyone who wants to transform/ upcycle unwanted objects.

The two containers are tiny, but easily enough material for the pair of hands shown. I used it to refurbish a cast-iron garden sculpture which had rusted in a few spots. Cleaning the rust and filling with epoxy, the paint supplied stuck to the original (cleaned) finish and to the epoxy. The bronzing wax is easy to apply and providing you do not use too much at a time, the desired effect can be built up.I used some verdigris colouring in addition to these two components as that would definitely be a feature of bronze exposed to the outside, and finished the article with matt exterior lacquer.

At first I didn't think I would have enough paint but this is two coats and I still have lots left. I'm yet to apply the wax but already I am very pleased with the effect. Looks almost like stone.
