This is a really nice product, love that it protects from the sun and rain. The case is really nice for carrying along the size is perfect for most purses and when open it provides plenty of protection. I will repurchase.

I want to give this umbrella 5 stars but it's close to only 3 for two reasons.First I'm glad I went with this at 42" as the competition provided 35" would be SMALL. Further I wonder why it's described as a womens/girls umbrella!?? It's a (black in my case) umbrella!?!Pros; It seems solid and like it will last for a while. It folds small and unfolds just big enough, but it is a travel umbrella...Cons; It is HARD TO LOCK OPEN. I'm a 210 pound man and it's hard. There is no way my mother (75) or maybe even my daughter (17) could lock it open. It takes effort and hurts my fingers. Maybe it can be stretched with time!? Left it open at home hoping...The folded umbrella is so compact and nice, then WHY is the case so much larger than needed!? It takes up a whole quarter size water bottle holder in my backpack!Fix the up/open locking tension and the case and it's an easy 5 star, as it is it's a 3.7

We bought 2 for Xmas for our sons. The reviews were good and we liked how compact they were which we thought would be perfect for school backpacks. Little did we know when we open them up for the first time that they would be rusted inside!!!! brand new and rusted!!!! not only that they are difficult to open and get the catch mechanism to activate. Even worse, folding it back up is completely manual, and for a kid having to fold it all up is exceptionally time consuming and even when I did it for my son, I still couldn’t get it to collapse all the way to use the strap to secure it shut. I would never buy these again cheap pieces of crap. These should have been two dollars at Dollar General not 13 on Amazon. don’t buy.

The umbrella fulfills its purpose and it’s good to have on rainy days. I appreciate the compactness of this item with its umbrella case shell. The only thing I hate is the zipper because it seems to be cheap. It doesn’t zip well at all and seems easy to pull off if you’re not careful. Other than that, the product is fine and you can travel with it as long as you have something to carry it in.

Just as expected for its value and compactness.
