clearly the fault may be mine..I can complete the 1st 2 parts of the utube video but the final one leaves a cut down one of the flutes. i have repeatedly followed the instructions, especialy the chuck setup but no joy.. put me out of my misery please!!! ..

Quite a good machine, but a lot of plastic.

This is a very good sharpener, make no mistake you have to learn to use it to be consistent, The learning is 1 Mount drill bit as instructed 2 Do not lift or lean on the bit holder whilst sharpening 3 Do not push in to hard, let the wheel do what it likes at its own pace 4 See 1 5 see 2 6 See 3 I learnt to sharpen in college with a normal open grinder, fell out of practice as good drills got cheaper and cheaper, so much so i have 6 full sets as it was cheaper to buy a new set than drive back to the workshop when i was on site, big box full of orphan drills too, All the drill bits worth keeping are now sharp again. For £30 odd sheets BUY it, The finish is not quite as good as new, but more than good enough for all timber and most sheet steel works, or 10mm plus plate i would like a finer finish to the cutting edge just to get an extra few holes.

Absolutely marvellous piece of equipment, paid for itself in the first fifteen minutes. Bought it after another reviewer said it was superior to much more expensive items (less than half the price), this proved to be 100% accurate. I sharpened a complete of cobalt drills from 3mm to 13mm, in minutes, then several of my colleagues brought me theirs to sharpen as well. The English instructions are a bit "Google Translate" but setting the jig to align drill flutes and the actually sharpening procedure are self-evident and simplicity itself. The unit is sturdily built and looks like it will last a very long time, the grinding wheel is easily accessible and can be changed with no problems when it eventually wears down. It is very quiet in operation and you can hear when each face of the drill has been ground correctly. The only surprise was that it came with a European plug, but once I fitted a British square pin type it was good to go.

I bought this elsewhere but I would like to tell all Amazon customers what a wonderful piece of kit this is. Easy to use, ready to use out of the box. I have saved the price in half a day of re-cycling (sharpening) drills that I would have previously binned ( I tried using a grindstone to sharpen drills but my skills are simply not good enough)...but this device means anyone can become an expert drill bit sharpener! Less than half the price of another (doctor) but virtually the same device in another colour and style.
