Great product!!
We applied this white gel stain lightly with a cloth on alderwood. It was SO easy to apply - and was so accomplished quickly. After it dried (which was fast) we then applied just small amounts of black paint/stain (again using a small cloth) to control the lightness and darkness of the streaks wanted) in order to give the wood an old distressed look. It was easy to apply, and the results are a really lovely bookcase. Wish I'd known what could be done with alderwood and this gel stain years ago, I'd have done an entire room with it. We put a matte finishing sealer over it - really sharp effect. The alderwood was inexpensive compared to other unfinished woods, and has wonderful grain lines and knots for character. Great Gel Stain product, and VERY fast delivery from seller (well-packaged also).

Great gel stain!
I love this product! The gel makes a great textured wood look for non wooden surfaces!

Covered preexisting well
I bought this in cherry however it was not the dark dark cherry color I expected. So while it was still wet I brushed on a cheap acrylic black paint and got the exact color I needed. I didn't even sand my end table. Gel went on fine and took nicely. It did take about 2 good days to dry. I suppose I could have used spray paint but then you have to worry about runs and can't tweak color. Happy with the outcome.

Looks great on fiberglass garage doors
The product arrived 1 day earlier than expected so that was a good start. I purchased this on Amazon because the major box retailers did not have "Gel" stains in stock. This is a great product for fiberglass. My doors were originally finished 10 years ago and take a lot of sun. you can see in the picture a before and after door side by side. I thoroughly prepped the existing door to make sure the new finish would adhere. follow instructions carefully. the quart sized finished 2 single and 1 double garage door. I am very pleased with the results. I have not yet sealed over it, which is a must in my opinion and have no idea how well it will hold up but it's a pretty good brand. take your time and try to do when there isn't direct sun as the product sets quickly.

awesome performance!
I'm a faux finisher by trade. A fellow artist recommend this to me, as he works for a small hardware store where they sell it. I found it on Amazon & decided to try it out. It's awesome! I took an ugly golden oak bathroom vanity to a beautiful deep espresso wood color. Saved hundreds of dollars by not replacing it, just staining! This product is so easy to use. It did take 2 coats to achieve the look I was after, but you honestly can't tell I even used much! I'm adding it to my list of products to use for clients projects now! very impressed!!

Old Masters Gel Stain
Old Masters Gel Stain... While I would prefer a lighter color to let the grain show, this serves the purpose of what I needed. To repaint and freshen up some anorak chairs for the summer. I left the one I had set out in the rain all winter for several winters... looking a bit shabby and paint amazing stuff.... It does cover a multitude of neglect.... TIP (1) Watched a UTube Tutorial I did use the paint cleaner called (Cabot wood cleaner - with a stiff brush - first). Was too lazy to do all of that hand sanding. Then hosed them down and let them dry in the sun before painting them with the gel-stain. TIP (2) Best to paint with a sponge brush. Actually... used several paint sponge brushes and a sponge roller for (4) Chairs and (2) small Tables. You will need at least 3 - 4 cans. The shipping is super expensive. I though it was a gallon so I ordered one more and still needed to order another. TIP (3): Be sure to use gloves as it is thick like paint and will get under your nails and looks gross. It is very dark brown like paint not thin like stain... letting the wood grain show through Good luck with your DIY Project. I do recommend
