Great device, especially that its size is reduced from the SONOFF MINI. Easy to install. I have to say, the MINI (older model) had better manual; the wiring diagrams had titles, but not it will not stop the installation (you need to understand the which diagram works for you, might take 1-2 min to do so based on your background)

Note, this is rated 10A only, in US you have 15A and 20A breakers. If the current is exceeded it may overheat, fail, or catch fire. If that doesn't bother you, note there is no web UI (you have to use eWeLink app), no MQTT, no power metering. Those are OK considering the price but you must flash it with Tasmota or ESPhome to get WebUI, MQTT, BLE proxy. To flash it you will need good eyes, good soldering iron, and steady hands.

Die WLAN- Schalter konnten bei uns dank ihrer Größe ganz leicht eingebaut werden. Man sollte aber vorher schauen, ob wirklich genug Platz in der Dose vorhanden ist. Einbindung ins WLAN ohne Probleme. Über die APP einfach steuerbar. Preis- Leistung passt auch. Wir können die Schalter weiter empfehlen.

I’ve used previous versions of Sonoff switches, but this Mini R4 is a massive improvement just based on the size alone. It is absolutely tiny. If you live in a UK house with those annoying shallow 35mm back boxes, this will not fit, you will need 47mm and most of the house will not have neutral in the light switch, so would suggest for no neutral sonoff smart switch. I managed to tuck it behind a standard light switch with room to spare for the wires. Setup was a doddle via the eWeLink app, and it discovered the device immediately. I really like the 'detach relay' mode—it allows me to use the physical wall switch to trigger scenes without actually cutting the power to my smart bulbs. Just remember: you do need a neutral wire at the switch location for this model, so check your wiring first. Highly recommended for a stealthy smart home setup. We had issues after few months but the sonoff customer care was helpful and they helped accordingly to resolve our complaint.

Installed for controlling my outdoor chrismmas LED light (light load) for different light on/ off schedules. Phisically fits very tight. Hard copper Canadian/ US minimum size 14AWG wire gauge hard to move/ fit in those tiny module holes. Screws of the module are very light too. You have to be very gentle when pushting everything back in the metal box for the module not to break apart. Also this module is not CSA or CuL or UL approved so installation is on your own risk but an certified electrician would not be allowed to installed it even it says CE approuved. But works good for me for the money (14$CA per unit)

Please remember that these are to be wire into a lighting circuit and require a skilled and competent person to do so. Well that’s the boring stuff over, these Sonoff smart switches are brilliant. I needed a smart solution to remotely control the my spotlight in a number of room. I have some smart bulbs in some of the rooms, but apart room them having some limitations, they could also prove to be quite expensive to replace each spot light with a smart bulb. This little 3.95 X 3.3 X 1.68cm box of tricks feels durable, is relatively easy to install, even easier to set up with the ewelink app. integrates seamlessly with all my home assistant, And also has a great advantage over its competitors the it works regardless of the position of the light switch.
