Blown away, amazing value !
I shot an entire concert with only this 7artisans 55mm f/1.4 manual focus lens on my Fujifilm X-T3, and it’s incredible. The image, color reproduction, sharpness, with a little of that manual, old school magic thrown in.It’s built like a tank, it has those sexy classic looks, for the price it’s impossible to beat this lens.I will let my sample images speak for themselves…Hairball, Iowa State Fair 2022.

Thoughtful packing. Amazing little lens
First of all, a very thoughtful packing. You get the lens, two bags for holding the lens (one is a thin fabric, other is a cushioned one). With a pair of microfiber gloves. The lens feels solid built. I am not going to complain about the lack of sharpness around the edge as this is not what I purchased this lens for. This is supposed to be my portrait lens and that is how I am judging it. The focus ring is smooth. Do not forget to turn on the setting to shoot without a lens as the lens does not transfer data to the camera. I opted for this as I could not afford the 56mm f1.2 from Fuji yet.I do not have anything to complain about it yet. But, if I find something, I will update this review accordingly.

reasonably sharp, great bokeh, fun
loads of fun with it's shallow bokeh, and easy to use controls. f-stops are not notched (no clicks), which i prefer, but many dislike. focus has a good throw. sharp lens, not too heavy like the Kamlan 50mm 1.1 v2. and to top it all off, it's cheap. for some strange reason, mine came with a lens bag that seems to be built for a large FF lens. Useless. Anyways, I'm enjoying this lens, and consider it a good cheap alternative to Fuji's own offerings, if you're willing to go without autofocus. You *do* have to turn off the default setting on the Fuji cameras, to not take photos unless lens attached, for they didn't bother to put contacts on it.

Not really f1.4 in any practical sense. Still good value as long as you know what you're buying!
This lens is going back to Amazon for me, unfortunately, but it may be a good bet for you depending on what you're looking for! Attached are two photos, the first was taken with the Fujifilm XF 56mm f1.2 at f1.4. The second is the 7artisans at f1.4 (henceforth referred to as the "7a".) Listen, I know I'm comparing it to a lens that costs nearly 10x as much, but you should definitely know what you're getting into with this guy.The first thing you'll notice is the difference in the sheer amount of light captured - shutter speed and ISO were equal for this test, and both lenses were at 1.4 as I said. The 7a looks to lose around 1-1.5 stops of light gathering ability vs the Fuji, in my estimation. You'll also notice a pretty harsh vignetting on the 7a. To be completely honest, it's kind of a fun look and I can imagine it wouldn't bother most people eyeing this lens - but something to be aware of!The third thing you'll notice is the profile of the bokeh - it definitely looks more like f1.8-f2, if we're comparing to the 56. It's just not quite as blurred.Sharpness is very much passable (if a bit "hazy" off-center) if you're comfortable operating a manual focus! The 7a is also significantly smaller than the 56mm 1.2 but has a similar "feeling" of very high build quality. This really blew me away, honestly - the thing feels like a tank. The focus ring feels perhaps even smoother than the Fuji. I don't have the Fuji 50mm f2 to compare it to, but that may be a more interesting fight. I have a sneaking suspicion that the Fuji at f2 would look similar to the 7a wide open but without the odd vignetting. The thing is, even if you were to find a used 50f2 for $300 you're still paying almost thrice the cost of the 7a!If you don't shoot in this focal range often, are new to primes or are new to the Fuji ecosystem and have one of the smaller bodies like an XT20, the 7a is probably a good pickup. Even though it couldn't quite make it across the finish line for me, the value proposition is very hard to deny.

Amazing lens!
Beautiful piece of glass. Can’t imagine I would own a lens of this caliber for the price. A German made lens would cost a fortune and this is of the same quality. Apparently the Sonnar design is very cost effective to manufacture. With my XT2 I’m living the dream of fast, sharp and compact lenses. Thanks 7 Artisians for producing great lenses at an affordable price.

Surprisingly nice
Using this with a Fuji XE3, and I have been impressed by the image quality of this little lens for its price. It’s like having a vintage lens with Fuji X mount, only with a tad cleaner image.Sharpness is good, color rendering is nice, and the focus smooth. Bokeh is surprisingly pleasing as well!

Fantastic portrait lense
This lense can produce stunning images when used appropriately. At this price point there are a few commise but I have produced beautiful portaits with it.The lense get very sharp in the center starting at f1.8 but is still usable wide open. The bokeh produced by this lense is absolutely fantastic and a big reason why I love this lense.Chromatic aberration are I would say "moderate" in high contrast area but I rarely use it in these conditions.

Good build quality fast and affordable portrait lens
I already have the 7artisans 25mm lens which I love, so I thought it's worth taking a chance on buying the 55mm - at the price you can't really go wrong. They are unavailable here in South Africa and I was delighted at the speed with which the package arrived : sooner than promised. The free velcro bag and cleaning kit are a bonus. The lens is solid and well manufactured. The only detractor is the clickless aperture ring and the fact that aperture and focus rings are back to front in their locations as compared to most other lenses, but you do soon become accustomed to that. The lens delivers sharp images and is small and pleasant to use

It works. Nothing to complain about

Impresionante objetivo
Mucha nitidez. Bokeh precioso. Enfoque manual fácil con una Xe3. Buena construcción. Sólo un punto negativo: cambio apertura continuo, es decir, sin pasos - aunque no es crítico y me voy a acostumbrar. Relación calidad-precio imbatible.

£100, for F/1.4
5 Stars, is reflecting the price.I got the Fujifilm X mount version and a HOYO pro protection filter.Image reduced to 900px longest sideFocus peaking on the Fuji makes the manual focus not difficult, however at F/1.4 the Depth of field is razor thin so landing perfect focus every time is very hard (Stop it down, increase DOF makes it easier). The subject isolation is very good, I like the click-less aperture, i find the focus smooth. Is the lens perfect, certainly not... but it is a £100 lens. if Money was no object I'm sure I'd have got the fujinon XF 56 F/1.2 but at £800 that is a large price difference.I shoot most of my professional work using the Fujinon XF 35 F/1.4 but i have used the 7Artisans 55mm F/1.4 for professional work and would be happy to use it again.
