Easy set-up, powerful speakers, truly portable.
The media could not be loaded. Okay, so I wanted to buy the Crossley record player but the reviews were too mixed for me to make the jump and actually purchase it. So I bought this instead because I saw a video about it and I can tell you for a fact, this record player is beautiful. The sound is so rich and powerful - the sound level in the video is a third of the way up. It truly is portable and has a headphone jack next to the turntable where you can put your headphones in. It did seem a little small at first, as in right out of the box so I was worried my vinyl wouldn’t fit, but it fit perfectly. The thing I loved the most though, was absolutely how easy to was so set up. It was literally a single cord from the back to a plug into the socket. When I opened the box there were a few cables and I thought that it would be complicated - and I’m such a lazy person, if it takes too much effort to set something up I’m returning it. So when I realised that it was a single cord and the player was on & began playing the vinyl, I knew this was it. Sooo, in short, it was money well spent and if you want the Crossley one, buy this one instead as it’s way cheaper (if you buy the Crossley from Urban Outfitters it’s about £95). You really could buy a better one like this one instead of one that is hyped up like the Crossley.

Cheap and cheerful, but doesn't really fulfil the potential it strives for.
Your average record-collecting audiophile is more than likely to pour scorn upon you if you pick up one of these Crosley-style portable players, and you'd be forgiven for defying their sneers and picking one up anyway - especially given how they offer an entry-level price into the wonderful world of records. And, for something in the sub-£40 price range, this Denver player holds some allure - 3 speeds of play, a couple of on-board speakers, a headphone jack, RCA output and even USB recording. Which would be all well and dandy, if the majority of those features actually worked. Sadly, they rarely do.Now, these qualms may be isolated to the player I received, but given that they're all of the same build, I'd be suspect if that were the case. Firstly, the headphone jack only has two real volume settings - "cranked up to the max", or "forget about it." At anything less than full volume, records were inaudible.Secondly, the tone arm is alarmingly light - to the extent that I had to use the old 'coin-on-the-arm' trick just to keep it from skipping a merry dance all over my copy of Illmatic. Strapping a penny to your tonearm is all good and well for a dated player, but there's a precarious risk that said coin will land on your favourite LP and cause catastrophic damage. My third irritation comes from not specifically this player, but all of these portable designs - a large percentage of your vinyl isn't going to sit on a platter; rather, the underside is just spinning out in the open air, practically inviting all kinds of dust and dirt to attach itself. Again, not something your vinyl collection will appreciate in the long run.Positives? As mentioned, it's attractively priced and it certainly looks cute enough. The on board speakers, tinny and under-powered as they may be, at least give a flavour of how a record should sound - and you can always hook up some active speakers through the 3.5mm headphone socket (or use the phono out into an amp) to get a louder - if not better-defined - sound. I returned mine due to the tonearm having a mind of its own, therefore I can't really recommend this - or any of its ilk - if you're looking to be anything more than the most casual of record listener.

Fantastic, thrilled to bits.
Absolutely great bit of kit. Speakers are as to be expected for the size & price (not awful mind you), but we link it up to our stereo speakers & get excellent sound from that. Been lots of fun listening to our records for the 1st time in 20+ years. Would happily recommend to anyone, have already convinced my Dad to get one after only 1 listen of ours! Also love the compact size & the ease of which it can be stored, I wouln't feel half as comfortable jamming a "normal" record player on it's side in a cupboard, but this is solid & quite safe.

Handy, decent portable record player
Bought as a Christmas gift for my husband. I checked reviews on the similar ones available around this price, and this seemed to have most of the best reviews. I wanted something that was going to be easy to move and store when not in use, and this is perfect. He is extremely happy with it. It plays very well and the built in speakers have good sound quality. No issues with delivery and actually arrived earlier than expected.

Excellent retro designed compact record player.
Bought this as 16th birthday present for my son. It has a fabulous retro design, is compact and the sound from the integral speakers is excellent. It has a USB port to connect it to a PC/laptop and can also be used as a USB record player, recording and converting vinyl to WAV or MP3 format. It also has an earphone jack.
