Is this jut baking soda??

Basically yes. It is not "a little extra cost" as noted by another. Baking soda is $4.50 for 13.5 lbs at Costco in one bag. This is 7 pounds for $20. The tiny amount of clarifier supposedly binds particles together so your filter catches them more easily. Not something you really need to concern yourself with.

Every week I have to add acid to my pool to decease the pH. Will these tablets keep the pH from increasing?

It is 86% baking soda, which will increase you pH. I would discontinue using a chemical that reduces your pH unless you are trying to raise pH. Pools only need three chemicals: Chlorine, Clorine stabilizer (CYA) NO more then 30ppm, and muriatic acid. Boric acid can be used to stabilize your pH as well, which will raise you pH, but as it is an acid not as much as baking soda will.

Can i just drop the tablets in my pool or do i have to use a dispenser? i only have one dispenser that i put the cholorine tabs in. we have an 18x9'

Add 1 Baking Soda Tablet to every 1 chlorine tablet. You can add to your floater dispenser or skimmer. It's a great product. I used 3/4 of these tablets and 3/4 chlorine tablets weekly and shocked my pool x1 week. And these 3 products kept my water crystal clear!! Never adjusted the ph, alkaline, water hardness, etc. Definetely worth it!

Can you use this with a saltwater system?

The directions on the container say "use with your chlorine"... That being said, I don't know if they are compatible/useful in a saltwater system.
