Seachem Laboratories 6509 140 mL 55 Matrix Carbon Tidal Filter Review: Best available - This is a reliable, efficient and economical way to add carbon filtration to your aquarium filter. With most filters I've used, the carbon needs to be replaced about once a month. Seachem recommends replacing Matrix Carbon every 3-6 months, depending on how dirty your water gets. (There's a detailed explanation on their web page.). If I can smell the water when I lift the top of the aquarium, I know it's time to rinse the filter and carbon. If it's been 6 months, I'll replace the carbon. The refillable bags are sturdy, so you can buy Matrix carbon in small or large jugs and refill the bag on a regular schedule. Matrix carbon and the Tidal power filter are the best available in my experience. Review: Priced good great service. - Works great

Quite and Effective
Have this in a 29 gallon long freshwater setup. The multiple choices of media is amazing, and you can remove the media basket without taking your whole unit apart. Super time savings. The filter is AWESOME.
